Contacted Yamaha, confirm NOT bringing in V-Star. Ask me to consider the Dragstar 1100. I also ask them how much to convert the Dragstar to cast wheels, $1840!

Posted

Just add that $1840 into your vstar1100 loan. still cheaper than a harley!

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Vstar 1100 price approximately SGD$14000 add SGD$1840 = SGD$15840 only

The figures are just my estimation but I m sure total cost less than 20k.

Wad do ya think?

That is bad English from a dealer but it means that they will not be importing this V series to our local shore.

2 years back, they quoted me only S$1,000 to convert that rims to cast alloy. It is a pity that price has raised now but I hope it isn’t about the 7% GST.

wahhh....like that no more cruisers left in Singapore man. Sad....

You will be surprised. Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom has arrived. I will be putting up the information in another thread later. :)

First, you have to be sure of the machine price is S$14,000 and GST is never included in the quoted price plus any hidden charges e.g. administrative charge etc. and for a dated model, I think one will be better off getting something else.

But the v star 1100 looks like the 400....

It doesn’t only look the same but shared the same dimension as with the 400cc version except for the engine capacity and weight.

I was also quoted $1000 to change the wheels when I was at the shop showing interest in the Dragstar 1100. I believe if you get a new bike the price is variable.

Hi Guys, I wrote an email to make an enquiry on the V Star 1300, the sales man revert that most probably coming in Oct.

So now are they bringing in the Bike or Not? I was pretty interested in these Mean machine. Hmm.....

I got to agree with newdragstar_rider, with all the different replies, I guess we just have to wait until October to find. :)

Hi Guys

I'm reporting from Brisbane. I went to the Yamaha Dealership this afternoon. Saw the Vstar 1300 and the Roadstar 1600. The scary part of the Roadstar 1600 is, it looks like a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in certain aspects (eg styling, belt drive, metal fenders, etc (?).....).

The Vstar is a "technology bike". EFI, hi-tech console, etc.....

I spent more time drooling at the Road Star though :cheeky:

Last in Singapore? Maybe. The Yamaha dealership told me that they can get the Royal Star Convertible and even the Venture in too! Some more, they have the same cc but with a 20 litre tank (2 litres more than yours)! The Royal Star Convertible looks more like a Road King Custom and the Venture looks like a Street Glide. I know this from the catalogue. Yes, I took one catalogue with me hehe....

Or you mean some other things?

If they can really do it, i guess why not u become SBF parallel importer? He he:angel:

Theoretically, can bring in. What I mean is within Australia, they can bring in the bike if you order for it. No need for a minimum quota. To bring it in S'pore, I think have to go for LTA inspection and other paper work. May not be worth it.
