Was almost hit by a souped-up Kelisa driven by a very young p-plate tomboyish driver. She cut into my lane from behind me, without checking at all. The thing is, she was behind me for a long stretch of road already, so she knows I am there. When she made that mistake, I was not in her blind spot. I was right beside her!

Her front bumper was only centimeters away from my left leg and I accelerated to escape. (I really appreciate that power on demand from my literbike.) Naturally I sounded my horn for a couple of seconds and looked at the driver. She seemed shocked and embarrassed enough so I just let it be. But within a minute she made a dangerous lane change from the right turn lane all the way to the left lane in order to turn left!

Singaporean roads are becoming more dangerous! :giddy:

like i mentioned eariler, too many inmature, inconsiderate, inexperienced and impatient road users.

riding on sg road have to pray before gng out. i have bikers cutting, overtaking from the left and right, on the same lane and that applies the same for drivers on cars, lorries and buses.

Totally! I mutter prayers constantly before moving off, while riding, and double during heavy downpours! It must be working since I'm still alive.

But I feel safer riding than driving, ironically. Maybe cos I'm such a bad driver. :p

Looks like I will be in for a culture shock when I get back. After riding for 2 years in the USA where drivers give alot of space and consideration for bikers.... its really going to be a real culture shock.

Pray that I survive my first week of riding on Singapore roads.

Today it was drizzling as per norm, was trying to get home before it rains on the PIE so I travelled 100km/h(special fast today) on the 1st lane along with other cars. I noticed this Tucson at 11 o'clock direction on the 2nd lane with a goods Van1 behind it and goods Van2 behind also. I realised they were too close to each other and got wary of any sudden movements by either kuku drivers. Suddenly the Indian Driver inside the Tucson(hyundai) jammed brakes and the Van1 slowed down whilst Van2(goods vehicle plate) cut into lane 1 and in front of me with fast acceleration.

I knew it wasn't the fault of Van2 though I did jammed my horns for a long while. Thank goodness I paid heed to what was happening around me else I might be swept over across the highway or be run over. :giddy:

That's the UK for you.

In SG, they simply advocate "No speeding", "No speeding", "No speeding", until you're blue in the face, asphyxiate, and vomit blood from the ears...

... and there is still NO campaign to tell road users to look out for less visible traffic. And that's for a country which has a larger bike population by percentile.

I guess that's meritocracy for you. The ones who pay more taxes and ERP gets the privileges.

u forgot the ERP ERP ERP ERP ERP

talking about horns.

sometimes i feel bad when jaywalkers have an earfull of my horns but the other side of me is saying they deserve it. about a year back, i horned a lady looking at the opposite direction while jaywalking at the CBD area, she got so shocked she fell backwards. i stopped my bike, blocking traffic and helped her up. i asked her is she alright, she told me why did i have to horn her.

i told her, you'd rather i hit you? she apologised and walked away. and i think everyone there thought i hit her. but as usual, everyone just looks. and some were more interested in my license plate number.

and to make things worse, it was lunch time.

rien d'autre que le max.
