Yap. The 3M velcro can hold the weight, but only if not moving.

Once above 90km/hr, the drag by the wind resistance will rip the camera from the helmet.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

I saw one YouTube biker cut out his Full Face helmet chin guard to put his Go Pro Hero in, without the waterproof casing.

He really cut a rectangle into the mouth area from the inside and drill out a hole for the lens then attached a waterproof button to access the on/off button from the outside. Then use rubber band to stop it from falling out from the inside, even though if the camera were to fall out, it would be stopped by the user's mouth.

But I won't be doing it like that for my set, the helmet cut here cut there, if during accident really kena onto the floor, don't think will have enough material left to withstand the impact to the chin area.

Worse case scenario in case of a crash, he'll have his teeth replaced by a GoPro sial. Damn dangerous.

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Yesterday while riding thru KPE towards TPE on da 1st lane, nearly got hit by unreasonable driver with family.

I was riding on da 1st lane @ 70kmph as allowed for max speed thru the tunnel. Suddenly a black Merc came so close behind me & started to horn repeatedly at me. I tried to gain some speed before I could switch lanes as there was quite some traffic within the 2nd lane. But da black Merc just kept coming closely behind me every time I tried. I couldn't even change lanes as the distance was too close & he was getting closer every moment. How am I supposed to even change lanes? My wife kept telling me dat he was getting very close to us. I just continued to ride @ 70kmph as I did not want to break any law especially when there are numerous speed cameras along the whole tunnel. Then when just there was enough space to switch lanes, da black Merc just picked up speed then overtook me from the left with a gap of about 1m or less. When that happened all the cars on the other lanes just stood clear of him. He then horned at us repeatedly. He then just sped off thru the tunnel.

We didn't manage to take down his plate number. What is there to rush on CNY evening? Why are there so many unreasonable drivers in SG? Why can't ppl stick to the rules?

Be careful guys.

Past rides:

1st ride : Vespa PX150

2nd ride : Honda Wave 125

3rd ride : SYM GTS 200

4th ride : Honda Super 4 Spec 2

5th ride : Derbi DRD 125 SM

Current ride : :dot:

These are the type of drivers who think their cars are the fastest and bikes should be on the left lanes. Some drivers still think the motorcycles should be on the left lane rule still applies.

Errr nt sure if u handled a gopro before but its quite heavy. No way the velcro can hold its weight.

When i bought i cam, 1 of e condition was weight. I think gopro is around 190g right? Mine is around 130g. Could give e velcro a try as mine zero issue. Still, i fasten a safety line for unforeseen circumstances.

Of coz can choose to live with e shaky, but 1 of e reason i dun use e stand for my cam becoz it feels less secure than velcro. Not sure how e gopro stand feels though. Mine feels a little like cheapo plastic.

I do not mind never ever going to lane 1 if tat guarantees my safety. Sadly tat is not e case.

Ride fast also may kanna.

Ride slow also may kanna.

I might as well ride fast, enjoy e ride + speed keeps me More focus. But must still watch out for other road users la.

Yes, i agreed tat the driver shouldn't be impatient and you have the right to check for safety before changing to lane 2, but firstly you shouldn't "road-hog" in a sense tat other vehicles cannot overtake you, lane 1 is for fast or overtaking vehicles.

Yes, speed limit, but you nv know if other vehicles wanna travel fast or emergency vehicle coming by.

Tats why i nv travel 1st lane unless i am overtaking. Due to road hogging vehicles on lane 1, vehicles on other lanes can travel even more faster.

I will never go 1st lane in tunnel. 2nd lane is the best, you may say 70km/h is the speed limit but your 70km/h does not mean others is at the same speed as you. 1st lane, i always see emergency vehicles, overtaking and also those road users that know the speed camera placement. It is the same as e-way, speed limit is 90km/h, how many times you see vehicles going faster then the speed limit? A lot, so unless i am TP or LTA, i will just stick to 2nd lane.

Bro SparkerS1, even IF I was road hogging, I'm not dat dumb to just stay there. I was trying to change lane. He was being the impatient one. Every few seconds kept pressing da horn. Everybody else was driving at da same speed. U try put urself in my shoes at dat particular moment in time.

At 70km/hr, why go first lane since everyone is around the same speed? Were u trying to overtake at 70

Posted

Please don't go to extreme right lane unless u overtaking or going more than 90km/h. Thanks so much. So people like me don't have to overtake u from the second and third lane.

Oh ya. And when I say more than 90 km/h, I mean the speed 140-240km/h. U wan go 120, can go second lane. Don't block the first lane. 2am the whole road so clear, u wan cruise, cruise on lane 2 and 3. Just saying...

I know what and how you feel. There was ever a taxi driver kept pressing the horn at me when I was travelling on the 2nd lane of PIE. To make it worst the driver kept playing with the passing light too. All the while the most left lane and the right lane was empty. It was really early in the morning. At about 4am.

Went riding up north, jams were terrible due to CNY but it was relatively safe...until the sight of Singaporean plate vehicles, then it starts to get dangerous. Stupid mofo drivers don't know that right is for fast and overtaking and if someone is faster, give way by going into left lane.

the stand is quite short, less than 4 cm in height and the plastic is not those cheapo kind. only the quick release buckle broke once due to manufacturing defect and got it replace for free via GoPro itself. aft the replacement, there are no issues with it

Same thing happen to me b4 on a previous bike a few years back. 1am in da morning, my friend & I was in da 2nd lane riding @ about 90kmph along PIE towards Clementi. A black Toyota Wish did da exact same thing when all other lanes were clear of any vehicles. Then after we changed lanes he came behind me dunno for wat reason. So I changed lanes again. He followed behind me again. So I switched again. Den dunno why he took out his phone & began taking video of us riding. He then took da Adam road exit. Crazy idiot.

Could it be that the driver was trying to tell u that your tail-lights was not working, or side-stand was down, or box was not shut tight etc? I find that when I am riding, it is much easier to gesture to another rider that his tail-lights is not working. But I think for drivers very hard.

Was the driver high-beaming u from a safe distance rather than flashing lights aggressively while tail-gating u? What was his following distance?

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Beware of woodlands avenue 2 towards republic polytechnic. The second overhead bridge has TP camping there maybe every Friday evening. Just received TP letter saying I speeding in excess 41-50km/h on a 60km/h road. Give me 12 demerit points. Lol. How can it be that I'm going that fast when I'm u-turning at the junction about 60metres ahead? The TP think too highly of me Liao la... 110km/h can come to a stop in 60metres? Power... Am I that good??? Or is the TP exaggerating? Lamppost 9 overhead bridge... Lol
