So far no arrests have been made. But the magazine sounds like they're keen on seeing an outcome.

Like I said, no arrests will be made unless there's death involved. And as for the lorry driver, he will be fined $200 and have 6 demerit points for inconsiderate and reckless driving. Ask me how I know? I myself was involved in a near fatal accident and the TP informed me that the action they took against the driver was $200 and 6 demerit points. And now I got 12 demerit points for speeding and not getting involved in an accident. The summon letter states a fine of $0, but my father told me that the fine amount will be settled in court. Will let u guys know of the outcome here. Btw, does anyone know of anyway that could hide your number plate from the TP cameras? Means its legal to the naked eyes, but whatever happens, it can't be captured on video or photos. Anyone? I don't mind spending few hundreds on that. Because it seems that whenever I follow the damn speed limits and the laws, I always get into f***ed accidents like getting hit from behind by a car, can't use my bike for 3 months but only can claim 1 week loss of use. Another accident happened in November 2008, up till now my claim only see $10,000 to cover my $15,000 and rising hospital bills. Bloody government. Really really screwed up. Even my overseas friends from america said its screwed up... Wtf

Cable tie the top of your plate loosely to the plate holder lo. Then the angle of the plate is speed dependent ma. The faster u go the more horizontal it becomes, once u slow down then it straightens.

Here's a video of some dumbfuuck biker who decided to turn into a gas station from the second lane abruptly. Just signalled and go. Never check blindspot. The cab (camera car) was in the left lane, travelling about 18kph over the spd limit (78 on a 60, if we go with the GPS display), plowed into the biker.

Many ppl might curse the driver (especially on a bike forum ;) ), but in this case I say the biker deserved what was coming for him. Really. Dumbfuuck. If you turn in like that and get hit from behind. You deserve it.

I'm an advocate of speeding-doesn't-kill, speeding recklessly does. the driver wasn't driving recklessly at all. The biker was asking for trouble. Give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he wasn't feeling well or was distracted due to crises in life at that moment. But if he has that habit of riding all this while, I'm sure alot of other drivers have given him alot of chances, he exhausted them all. That was his wake up call.

I concur. :D

Replace the car with a bike and bike with a car and we have a scenario whereby the driver will say the rider was speeding and hit him from the rear.

Even in the scenario above, the biker would still claim that the car rear-ended him, if there wasn't a dashcam involved. It's normal to try to push blame.

But around the interwebs, I've seen bikers cursing at the car driver for "speeding" and saying that the biker signalled and all that sh1t. But I attribute that to a defensive or entitled mindset that some bikers (mostly noobs) have. That, plus the "I take bikers' side" brudderhood thinking. LOL.

Here's another one.

I guess he doesn't realize that the most dangerous place when there's a jam or hold-up is actually the clear lane. Why? Because most vehicles, when stuck in a queue and seeing a clear lane, will always wanna make a run for it.

So approach the clear lane with caution. Expect a car to pull out, ALWAYS.

Didn't Motoworld advertise a 2-CH system for bikes? U may wanna check it out. Not cheap though.

But then again u wanted an automatic system. So it's gonna cost you.

spotted on the road today. Super 4 FBC plate with very bald tires. i'm talking bald like RACING SLICKS kind. i can even see where the unused tread on the extreme left and right side of the tire is still there, but everything else is just BALD.

I tried to catch up to tell the rider but he sped off and rode very fast.

Some people could care less. As long bike can start and can move already for them its good enough. When major problem starts then they will sell off the bike. Pity the next owner. Its a cycle.

True to that. It's up to the next owner to check properly & not get "conned"? :D

possible, but the rate of wear on that rear tire is just too much for a rider to not neglect.

i mean when the tires are balding you will go and change already right? not when the tire carcass is gonna show soon then you change.

Aiyo, it's not like this la. U call TP and ask to look for the Investigation Officer in charge of the case. Quote the plate number, date and time of incident. They will direct u to The investigation officer. Best is to go down and give to them personally.

The car didn't stop to provide assistance. This is a hit and run case. Maybe the person who has the video, should make a police report regarding this matter and let the authorities handle it. It's easier for the video holder and the police like this. They can liaise with their own officers more effectively.
