Thanks for the guide dinie... Will go back and take a look tonight. So the rear wheel should not rotate if I put the bike on main stand and squeeze the front brake lever right?

i think what he meant was... when u brake hard to deccelerate, the right front caliper will be caught in a dragging momentum and thus this momentum will cause the caliper to press onto the pump which is attached to it. when the pump is pressed, it will activate one of the piston in the rear caliper.

why not u try pressing the pump rather than ur brake lever? :cheeky:

it should still rotate, cos like i said, it only works when the bike is in motion, not when stationery. one way to check is when you're riding, brake just using the front brakes, don't step on the rear brakes. the bike shouldn't dive as much as a bike without CBS. after that touch your rear brake disc and feel if its hot(crude i know). if its hot means your rear brakes are working as well.

It means i removed the exhaust catalytic converter.

I didnt notice any diff in sound...it just make the bike not so hot when riding.FC not affect at all.

Hi Caleb,

80 degrees while cruising at high speed is ok if it is in the daytime. The only time I get the 70s reading is while cruising at night time. 90s - 100s is when your in city traffic.

A nice aftermarket exhaust to get would be the Lazer pipes. A couple of bros are using it here. Makes your Viffer look like an MV Augusta and has a nice exhaust tone. The agents are M-Technik & Motoworld.

If you want sliders without having to drill your fairing, the only one I know of is Lightech sliders which you can get from JR Limited.

Bro...its a fairing bike...all fairing bike got this kinda problem when making a u-turn especially. So...sooner or later u will get use to it.

As for the temperature..it is normal. super hot but not that hot..If w//o tankbra even hotter and u can feel the heat in between ur thigh and balls!

Don't worry...u'll definitely get use to it soon...

Till then...feel the engine and enjoy the ride!!

Got my 2003 version for 2 weeks, happen to receive the notification for inspection...

Had problem locking the rear wheel due to the ABS (Lights on), tried to jam the front brake (in the hope to activate the CBS). The inspector struggle to verify the issue claiming that my rear brake is faulty or my brake pump up lorry liao. Later a senior inspector came along, he who are more experience said that you need more current to activate the ABS/CBS, thus to pass the rear brake testing, you got to jam the front-rear brake and throttle at the same time!

It works!

One of the tech suggested to "dis-arm" the ABS before coming to inspection.

Told him off that i will not compromise my life to deactivate my "air-bag" just

to pass inspection- doesn't it sounded like defeating the primary purpose of

the entire inspection crap? To prevent accident - to save life? The hack with

the inspection system, they better come out with some gears to comply with

the ABS "non-braking" system, hahaha....

Hope this note help...... :cheeky:

Hi all, Was wondering if anyone could help me answer a few quick questions abt VFR800, am torn between getting it or the fazer...

1) How is the bikes riding position? Been on a Fazer before and it feels pretty similar to a super 4. Wondering it a VFR would be somewhat similar?

2) Anyone got a estimate of its FC? went thru the forum and came up with 16-17km/L... anyone got any higher?

3) I am not very tall... like 178cm... anyone with similar height kind enuf to enlighten me on if i would be more suited to a fazer?

Would appreciate if anyone could answer my questions. :) cheers all.

The riding posture is very friendly as compared to most Honda sports bike. Pretty comfy for long distance. Had not been on a Fazer before.

FC is subjective due to individual riding preference. I weight abt 70kg,

change gear at 4.5-5k rpm, FC abt 17.5-18km/l.

My height is 1.73cm, suspension can be adjusted to compensate towards

your preferences. Should not mizz out the V4 experience. You'll get the

"punch" even if you squeeze the throttle at 140km/h :cheeky:

Hope it help.
