    • Discrimination on bikes! The word "m/cycles" shd be removed
    • Agree, this is a very good piece of advice for motorcyclists
    • Neutral. You can't change any gahment signs, can you?

usually i would keep left to avoid being tailgated.

car drivers sometimes have the perception that we muz keep left.

then tendency of me being tailgate at center lane is higher even if other lanes are free from traffic..

sigh.

Maybe they forgot where they put it?:slapforehead:

U koe lah, sometimes poor recording or handing /taking over.

Or they want us to be sure of what e r writing?

Anyway, it is good LTA is willing to amend the signs.

I saw it at PIE towards Changi Airport just after the exit to BKE before the exit to Eng Neo Avenue.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Exactly.

I don't koe y some car drivers tend to think that bikers cannot travel at right lanes.

I hope it is not because of this sign.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Hi.

When I travel along PIE, I come upon a sign "Motorcycles and slower traffic, keep left unless overtaking". I feel that the word "motorcycles" on the sign is redundant. Just "Slower traffic, keep left unless overtaking" will suffice.

Putting the sign with the "motorcycles" word, though harmless, is giving other road users the impression that bikes should not travel in extreme right lane, is this the reasons why some cars tailgate us!!??

Modern big cc motorcycles come with better braking efficiency and stability, can travel safely on the S'pore expressway at the speed limit. so why the sign??

Please give your comments/feedback.

Maybe last time bike is C70 kapkia bike ... so they assume slow . and havent update yet ..

Besides .. i notice that Class 2 bike 90km/h is faster than taxi's 90km/h (checked on speed camera ....

however when i ride small bike ... on 90km/h ... i noted that lotsa vehicles overtake me ..

get the difference ? meter phsychology.

So when u riding on right lane ... they tailgate u for 1 reason..... they havent reach their maximum speed limit .

or ... they are speedsters on the road ....

But main reason is becoz motorcycles are prone to accident so by keeping left is your best chance to escape accident by swerving to road shoulder .. and ... more space for u to fall :help:

I believe it is more of the wheel size change than meter psychrology.

Many cars/taxis like to upgrade their wheel size from 13" to 14" or 14" to 15" without realising that it will worsen their fuel efficicncy and corrupt their speedometer, trip meter as well as odometer.

Sometimes it could be a 10% inaccuracy!

So when the speedo shows 90km/hr, they r actually travelling at 99km/hr!

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Some countries have a designated lane on the left for bikes right?

I presume that this sign is becos of this, even though Singapore don't have a 'bike lane'.

China is one of them. But that's shared with pedestrians and cyclists. :giddy:

Talking abt slower vehicles keeping left i think some(actually alot on BKE, PIE, KJE) truckers n good vehicles are thinking tat when the speed limit for these vehicles came up to 70 Km/h it also meant tat slower vehicles can keep right!

Bloody hell! I mean its fine if its part of an overtaking manouvre but some of them just refuse to switch lanes again after overtaking!

Seriously, where;s the teeps when u need them? I think they shld seriously stop all their high altitude filming from bridges n all n get down on the road n throw the book at ppl who hog lanes, tailgate n fail to signal.

If they just do this a lot more I'm shure u will see a lot less snippets of riders skidding n dying.

I mean seriously dead man tell no tales n I always wonder when I read in the papers tat a rider passed away after an accident when he skidded. I mean I dun think bikers just skid. Its usually cos of swerving at high speed or jamming the brakes n the wheels locking.

It will be forever be a mystery why they these departed riders has to resort to action like tat.

Someday, home will be where my front wheel points.

Perhaps but my view is tat it definitely leads to traffic slowing down.

I have no complains if its overtaking at 70 in the second lane but drivers shld learn to switch back to the left n give way to traffic behind.

As it is in Singapore sometimes u can overtake everyone from the middle lane cos u will have morons cruising on the right most overtaking n emergency vehicles lane.

Maybe the drivers of goods vehicles feel tat since the limit is higher they can cruise on the middle lane. But an ounce of common sense will tell u tat 70 is still 20 below the 90 limit on most parts of the highway.

So moral of the story: Don't hog lanes. Give way. N it'll be much better for everyone!

I also have an issue with Drivers tailgating me on the right lane. But they just tailgate. I will move the centre lane to let them overtake, but once i move aside, they seem to ease their throttle and keep a distance from the car infront. I have this feeling that they just do not like a bike being infront of them. But maybe certain riders have gave us all a bad name as the moment they see us, they think we are 'pests'.

Anyway, i think that there are motorcycles and there are bikes. There are motorcyclists and there are bikers. If this can be differentiated, perhaps all road users will see things more clearly.

What sign?? I don't see a problem, really.

Actually I don't really give a flying fark abt those signs. And I don't give half a rat's ass abt the arrogant drivers who try to "enforce" those signs either.

One twist of the throttle, and these kind of ppl usually end up in the rear mirrors anyway...

So, what's the problem here again?

the signs are very contradicting...........but who cares.....im with u bro.....

its more danger to ride with lorrys and van on the extreme lane ya?

with other motorists coming onto the express way and others making sudden lane change to exit the expressway way.

i travel on the extreme right cause the traffic is more predictable. but tat does not means loosen dw ur guard
