which insurance company did u get yr bike insurance from?

if it's NTUC Income, proceed to nearest IDAC (google for what's IDAC if u r unsure) for visual inspection done. this inspection must be done within 24hrs of the accident. along w/ inspection, they will take down the details u provide + other drivers' details that u have.

if it's not NTUC Income, this IDAC inspection thing may not apply. simply call up the insurer hotline and check with them on the claims process.

:goodluck:

the insurers can advise on which workshops u may approach for repairs. i got a feeling that the car driver will attempt to claim damages frm u. if this is the case, u need to produce evidence that the blame is on the van driver. i feel the van driver may be quite willing to fork out money (if he has any to spare) to settle any damages since he was using a phone while on the road.

EH! oh no! i was in school for the whole day. if i go tml, which is more than 24 hrs liao.. thn wat will happen?

haha willie told me tml go IDAC report, thn send to bike shop let them settle. hopefully can claim insurance. my insurance is subride under another person but is NTUC 1. tat guy insurance i duno yet..

if report >24hrs, yr grounds for claims will be weaker.

when filing the report, do check w/ them if they have any restrictions on the motorshop u can visit. they may or may not have a listing of authorised workshops you can send for repairs.

sad lah i've been bollock-ed for my clean on-the-road record.

True what... Just because you think safe doesn't keep you safe mah...

Sorry for the strong opinions, but as always you dress for the fall not for the ride.

I have seen/heard enough freak accidents to be wary. While I may knowingly take some risks, I take them knowingly and without denial...

So sorry again, but I hold my stand.

hey guys! I oso had my cbr150 liaoo!!

but then jus now, at a junction while i was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, a van hit my bike from the back..cuz he was reading some sms and nv see. @#%$%#

thn infront of me got a car. both the car and me were stationary. so the van hit my bike, i hit the car. thank god i sort of only jump out of the bike and landed on my feet! so no injuries to me. thn some passerby came over and help me push the bike to 1 side thn the van driver and car driver come out we talk and exchange contacts.

so visually my bike got no problem. jus tat comestic wise got alot some scratches. then the passerby told me tml go bike shop and see need repair anot. if need thn pay first thn the receipt give tat van driver ask him compensate me. correct rite? but thn wat is the extend till.. like i can coverup those paintwork not? and the front oso got scratches leh.

anyone can clarify me more on the compensate part? still quite unsure. haha thanks people!

He hit youfrom behind, it is clearly his fault, claim all the way, bring your bike to a respectable bike shop, them them to do what ever they want and let them settle the claims. You might also wanna hint that you want certain things upgraded. Like high speed bearings, lighter sprocket and chains, better tyres, suspensions, racesets, fairings in the colour that you want, ...

limitless possibilities...

im also curious to know what the new VFR1200 looks/sound like.

have u seen it?

Have not yet seen it on the road - with this weather, no bikes out - but have read magazine article on it, described as the ultimate tourbike, a serious competitor for the Beemers and Yamaha's. Unfortunately this article is in Dutch so difficult to share...

Btw, if anyone interested, I subscribe to PB magazine, can share some articles for those interested. Just lemme know what bike u wanna read about and I'll see if there's any articles (keep in mind they focus on 600cc + segment)

No lah, sorry again for being my opinionated self. We live our own lives in the end...

CBR600, CBR1000, CBR954 (unlikely to have) CBR919 (unlikely as well)... CBR... see a pattern here?

Nice...

Don't be too explicit about it though, insurance will not cover if prices are over-inflated and may investigate. Just hint to the bikeshop about it. But somethings are a given, like if there are scratches, of course can spraypaint the whole thing coz it's the only way to restore the damage.

Oh what IS important though is to check if your rims, frame and subframe are bent. if you miss anything else, it is still not too pricey to replace.

I am of course assuming that your engine is alright, given your description of your incident.

Have a rocktastic week!
