Ronald Reagan once said, "If not us, who? If not now, when?"

But that was during the inflationary 80s. :cheeky:

Do come if you're free, ajid. My first outing with these guys was a great one even though I was the only "new comer" that day.

Even in my lower feeling days, i would force myself to get out and meet them cos when u get to know them, u'll agree that its all gonna be worth it. For me, its the dragging myself out of the hse part. For u? Shyness is only a precursory step to a long lasting r/s with the folks from this thread. Come on down, ajid.

who is your source?

Ronald Reagan la...

i dont think thats what he ment....:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The phrase 'If not us, who. If not now, when?' can be traced back to the Hebrew teachings of the Rabbis from the Mishnaic period. Chapter 1, verse 14 of the Pirkei Avot, more commonly know as the 'Chapters of the Fathers', states 'He would also say: If I am not for myself, who is for me? And if I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?'.

Ronald Reagan later coins the phrase 'If not us, who. If not now, when?' in his Second Inaugural Speech in 1985.

i have no intention to win any case.

we've met too many people who like to make unsubstantiated claims, suggestions and opinions which are not backed by any facts but their own ego.

i just hope that we don't end up becoming these people.

nah of course not. being an econs student, the first time i heard that phrase was in class when my lecturer played us an hour of the history of econs around the world, for every class.

the ex president's quote came after rising inflation rates were going out of hand. he was use the theory of monetary policy to bring inflation rates down, and it worked. Hence, by controlling the supply of money, being one of the 4 policies used, he did what his predecessors couldn't and that is to bring down inflation rates through deregulation. His theories were later coined as, "Reaganomics".

If u need a source, here it is.
