I prefer to change to cleaner oil more often. I normally use mineral oil

- cheaper but change to semi for the higher tempreture due to the jams

on the causeway. I feel it is better....... I don't do alot of mileage on the

bike so guess it the same laaaa thanks for your advice.... :thumb: :thumb:

Ops, I am sorry. Gave bad intro...

Not necessarily. It could be a different one to the one I saw sitting there a couple of weeks ago. Or they could have fixed it up, or they could have more than one.

Any advice on the location of a bike is good because it gives the buyer more options and bike to evaluate so that he/she knows when they find a good deal.

wow, u guys are so spontaneous man, can't keep up with ur replies!

actually i contacted the gal selling online already, but apparently she's so busy with work we already cancelled 2 viewing sessions. make me travel from boon lay to bedok lor. haha

luckily i begged my friend to lend me my old bike (i'm the sub rider :cheeky: ) to travel if not damn shagged.

anyway, tmr i'll be going to alexander area to look for one with my sister. ultimately, my sister will take over from me once she passed.

any tips or advice to give? i'm somewhat not too trusting of shops.

As a really rough guide (machine price) I would say:

FW 2.4-2.7

FX 2.7-3.0

FY 3.0-3.3

FZ 3.3-3.6 (if it's the new model, nicer rear view mirrors, different ignition lock)

All this of course condition and mileage dependent.

New CBR150R from Bike Production (serangoon rd) is 4.5k OTR with basic insurance (quoted for 30+ rider, younger is a bit more ex)

Price doesn't seem to bad, esp if it includes fitting.

As for the distance the meter cable can go it's pretty variable but I'm sure some ppl get a lot more life out of theirs. Removing the cable once in a while (like 5000km) and oiling it could help a little. 10,000 or so km and $16 doesn't sound too bad to me but I'm used to part prices for things like my Aprilia, my KTM and previous other big cc Jap bikes. Thai bike parts are SOOOO cheap but with that can come variances in quality on certain items.

oh that's really helpful man, hmmm so the price plus around 500 more for insurance and transfer fee will be what i'll be paying right? do shops have other "extra" charges?

i'm 21 and i'm looking at 3rd party fire and theft insurance. should be around 500 or 600 i guess since i paid like 650 for my NSR150SP.

Ok, just got back from running around during lunch. Spotted 3 bikes at shops as I flew past.

1 ugly purple one at Meng Motor (I think that's the name) along Jalan Besar, just before Syed Alwi rd.

1 Blue one at Dan Heng (or something like that) along Serangoon Rd, a little after Mustaf, about 400-500.

1 Repsol sitting at the bike shop on the corner of Serangoon and Lavender. A few shops up from Bike Production.

yup i did went down in the evening just now. walked around but disappointing lahz, many shops have CBRs but they are all first hand.

the only shop that has a 2nd one is a FW maroon color CBR which i did try. but seems to be very underpowered compared to my SP. i guess that's normal though.

shop quote me 2.6k machine and 3.35k OTR with mitsui 2nd party. didn't like the color at all so didn't buy in the end.

i tried my frens kr..in terms of torque,cbr150 does lose out.. n cbr150 rides better only at higher revs.. in my opinion tat is.. to my understanding,4 strokes doesnt vibrate as much as 2 strokes..n in terms of being stable at high speeds, abt the same..coz in terms of weight not much difference..only that fairing on cbr is thin..

handling i would say tat cbr is easier to manouvere.. but the top speed achieved by cbr cant b compared.. or mayb no one on the cbr150 really dared to try to push the bike to the limit as do the riders of kr sp n tzm..

anyone correct me if im wrong in any way..n text in red is subjective.. i personally havent dared to try top speed..managed 140kmh but felt could still trottle more..

but my brrain tells me to slow down.. hahah..

yup generally i feel that the CBR is much smoother than my SP when i test rode it at bukit merah lane. so i guess CBR is more of a commuter bike ba. 2 strokers probably have much more torque to offer and i'm gonna miss my SP.

oh ya, :offtopic: :offtopic: gossip a bit, my friend who took over my SP just had an accident yesterday in NTU outside hall 11. anybody witness the accident?

ozzarhomb> just out of curiosity what was the mileage on the FW plate you looked at?

As for the power, you can't really compare it to an SP150. Two strokes are usually ALOT more powerful. The CBR150 is much more rideable though.

just wanna gripe a little.

Some total mutherfarker in my area has taken a disliking to me or my bike, maybe because I'm angmoh, otherwise I can't figure out why.

Anyway, today was the third time I returned to my CBR150 to find the rear view mirror broken. However, this time the bas***d also broke the mirror on the bike that was parked beside me and then the owner of that bike left a note on my bike accusing me of braking their mirror and asking me to pay for it stating that they have taken pictures of my bike parked too close to theirs.

Anyway, I check my bike carefully when I park it and walk away and I am 100% positive I didn't damage the bike beside when I parked. Besides, if I really had done such a thing and didn't want to admit to it I would have moved my bike to another lot. I'm not stupid.

Point is I'm ###### fedup. These ppl (I'm assuming they are troublesome kids) have it in for my CBR150 and I've tried parking in different areas of the MSCP and it still happens. I don't know what else to do other than to sell the bike and hope that they don't realize which of the other bikes are mine.

Why are there people around like this???

Arrrrgghhhhh!!!!!

ermm, guess i missed that out, didnt really notice the mileage.

u know the ex owner of the maroon CBR is it? there's a scratch below the pillion handle.

the salesman was quite pushy so i was turned off by him plus i really dun like the maroon color, i'm going down to serangoon later to take a look. really hope to deal soon.
