Anyone knows the reason for the sound? And will it damage the disc brake if i continue to use it?

Hello Miss,i got this squeak sound B4,like to share it with u,agreed with Aman47,when i was using the normal type of oil(eg WD40) will never solve the problem,it works initially but then will come back shortly, finally i have got rip of this irritating squeak sound and it has never come back again for months at least till now.

First get a brush or cotton stick, use the chain oil(sticky type),spray the oil onto the brush or cotton stick and apply it gently to the tiny gap of the brake pad, left and right(top and bottom where the disc in between the brake pad),after then rolls your bike a few rounds ,not to worry if the disc is a bit sticky, the purpose is to get rip of the friction, but you can clean it gently with a cloth,if you feel it's dirty, finally test you real brake b4 going on the road.Hope it helps.

hmm.. i tink it's normal. cos wen i bought my bike also got tt time of sound. den my fren say use finger add a bit of oil onto the disc brake (A BIT ONLY!!!! if too much, no need to use rear brake liao.. haha) .. den ride a while n use the rear brake n the noise will be gone liao..

but after a few mths the noise will come back, especially after heavy rain. but i got immune to the sound already, so now dun bother to put any oil.. haha..

anyway, my fren say will not damage the brake if got the screeching sound.. duno true or not..

hope it helps.. btw, if wat i did was wrong, please tell me hor juz incase anytin happens :cheeky:

Thanks for this post. I had this sound on my Aprilia RS125 for so long liao.... changed brake pads, change brake disk also.... then serviced the brake pump n caliper n still got sound...... then I tried ur method, ......... no more sound liao n my brakes are still working good. I applied just a small drop of 2T on each side n use hand rub.... n the sound is gone......

Thanks.

Wait till I achieve my objective.... I will be back with a more powerful engine and a more sexy bike......

Hmmz.. i'm not sure about that.. Coz u can own a bike as long as you have the license for that bike's CC, and become the "owner".. You dun need to become a sub rider.. And have another person as the owner..

Plus, juz in case they say anything about being a subrider for the bike, and having another person above 21 years old to be the owner, so that the insurance will be lower, think again... That time, i also thought the same way (my dad told me) when buying my bike..

But then, i asked in this thread, juz in case, and one of the fellow riders told me that insurance got smarter last year... So, basically being a sub rider and owner of the bike won't cause much difference in our insurance cost.. However i'm not 100% sure about this. :sorry:

So, guyz.. correct me if i'm wrong, k... Thanks :thumb:
