hi guys!! i just changed my tyre both wt bridgstone battlex 90/80 for front & 110/70 for rear. after that . i feel it something. drop my power. example. last time 7.1 or 7.2 rpm go for 100 km/h, now 7.5 rpm go for 100.. abit drop. my last tyre size r 90/80 front & 100/80 rear. tyre cost 150 bucks.

then, my engin got abit problem. every morning hard to start. i need to press button ard 10 sec to start. n not stable engin power, running to 2.5 rpm to 1 rpm. then oftenly dead, especially rise throttle n relase.

last monday i went to Unique Mortor n repair this problem. they did servicing carburetor , change plug. Mech told me. Carburetor diaphraghm is no good. hav to change but they dun hav new at the time. this afternoon i will go there n repair again. hope to get goo :D

just share what i found. tks a lot. Gong Xi Fa Cai !!!

( btw they changed to me the sevicing cost 15 + OWS plug 25 + needle valve 18 + tyre 150 = 208. I thought V V good service wt this price)

from ur description ur problem is same as mine lei if u read what i posted before.. n our bike should be similar batches cos mine is orange too.. fy8xxx de.. haha.. but then now i change whole carb including the item u named inside.. still got like no power after 115.. gota see mech soon too.. but hor they said when i changed all should be fine but now i duno whats the cause either..

but after carb changed u wont feel the problem of when u cold engine start bike.. as for will u be back to my current problem will have to wait n see.. anyway i change carb at $220.. cos that item alone might cause near 100 (the piece look like cyclinder make of rubber de ).. the shop advise me to change whole carb.. so for ur one do update on this thread thx..

Hmmm... Like Lazy mentioned.. His FC also very bad no matter how he rides.. Seriously lor, I don't speed or anything.. Tried to use engine break often, below 6rpm sure change gear.. Never rev one.. take my own sweet time till sometimes get horn coz too slow haha.. No difference lor... I have never even reach 250 before.. The big 3 u hit is like a fantasy to me man hehe... Also don't know y there's such a big diff leh hai.. so sad..

for me, i usually top up only about 7+litres of petrol. this amount of petrol can get me slightly over 300KM.

truth is, i never really figured out how the other guys managed to squeeze in more than 8litres of petrol. hehe.

im the conservative kind who prefers to top up the tank when it is not totally empty after having experienced bike pushing along KJE road shoulder when the tank ran dry on my previous bike.

u said yr full tank gets u lesser than 300KM. how many litres do u usually pump? did u pump it right to the brim of the fuel tank? i.e. cover the metal bar which runs horizontally across the fuel tank topup hole?

hi newbie... just let u know not all 2stroke are problematic... i dun know la.. but here's mine KR....

when riding rpm over 7k which is 120km/hrs.... Fc will drop full tank can go 230km then reserve.... if u ride below 6rpm 100km/hrs or below... full tank can go up to 300km before reserve... 2T i only need to top 2 month 1 bottle... for the 2T part i dun know... cause many told me will piston jam cause my 2t intake is so small.... but i not hardcore rider.. ride till redzone there so no worry... full service at JB cost me $40SGD.... and piston all in good condition.... EO and Plugs just change 3month each time... that all.... and sometime i ride i feel my bike got something wrong no power like that... but actually is i think too much la... ride untill now also no problem...

i agree that the FC for some of the 2stroke 2B sportsbikes can be rather good. i used to do about 320KM on a full tank with super conservative riding on my KRR. max speed i travel will be 90kmph.

as a result, i always encounter problem with valve jam (when i whack the bike once every few weeks or so).

it is also necessary to bring 2 stroke for full service regularly and get the accumulated carbon & uncombusted 2T cleaned up. when i brought my ex-bike for full service (after 1year of riding replacing only EO & spark plug all the way), ended up i had to change new piston cause the piston chao tar + there were minor scratches on engine block.

:giddy:

spent close to $180 to polish the block and change new piston + rings. when doing my run-in, my FC increased like hell. one full tank could get me only around 230KM. buey tahan liao and sold off the bike. later on the buyer told me FC improved to around 270KM per tank.

considering the ley chey-ness of owning a 2 stroke, that was the last 2 stroke bike i had. :cheeky:

wa, then you must make good friend with Wandi. he teach you how to pump until reach the point when you close the tank-top just nice. just nice until petrol also cannot flow. =P

i must have been very lucky as i never had so much problems with my SP. my 2T intake is adjusted rich actually, maybe that minimise the piston problems.

$100 sound like a expensive risk. you don't know if it might work. unless they give you black and white guarantee or something.

Hmmm... our bike gears are really by default stiff? Makes me wonder if I will spend the money or not leh hehe.. Anyway, I went to a shop very well known for their gd service lah.. Highly rated un SBF lor.. Mayb Thisisme know where I'm talking abt hehe.. :cheeky:

How do u calculate ur mileage? Last time i thought my FC was quite bad too but actually is cos i didn't calculate properly. Our tank right, even though the needle has touched the redline, like what zed said, still has about 1.5litres of petrol left. So when u fill to full tank, take note how much u fill in. For me usually will be 8 litres, then when the needle touches the redline again, that's when i use the mileage around 320km divide by 8 litres, = 40km/l :thumb:

hehe.. Actually I was abt to ask how to caluclate the mileage coz scare I am calculating the wrong way. Ok there was only a few times I waited till red line then pump lor just to test how far my bike can go.. Most of the time slightly less than 1/4 I'll pump liao.. Don't know just feel that the bike runs smoother with full tank hehe...

Ok enough crap.. Back to the pt hehe.. Let's take the one I recently pump as eg. The initial distance was 358km then I travelled till 532km, pumped 5.44l lor.. Am I right to: (532-358)/5.44 = 32km/l????? This is roughly the distance travelled everytime lor even when I waited till red line then pump. Hope I'm right in my calculation hehe.. :cheeky:

i find that if i try calculating my FC i get better averages if i use up more fuel. normally, i would pump 8+ liters and get FC of 45km/l. but once i pumped 3 liters and i got 30+km/l!

i feel that for statistics, it is important to get a larger data group. your result should be more accurate if you have more data (in this case, fuel used or distance traveled).

it's maths, or maybe i'm too geeky! =P

Alright, this is how u should calculate FC:

U must record down the mileage when u go and pump petrol

I.E. 1000KM (Just for illustration)

Then, the next recording will be done when u go and pump the 2nd tank of petrol

I.E. 1320KM (Lets say 2nd time u go and pump, meter reads this mileage)

Then, THIS TIME! U must take note of the amount of petrol u pumped:

I.E. 8Litres

Calculation of FC will therefore be:

[(Mileage @ 2nd pump) - (Mileage @ 1st pump)] / Amount of Petrol @ 2nd pump

I.E. (1320KM - 1300KM) / 8L = 40KM/L

*Please note. FC will only be right provided u pump full tank.

Like what "Collectees" mentioned.. he gets FC better when he uses more fuel.

This is not the correct explaination

Correct reason being:

U divide by the amount of petrol u pumped is because "U run 320KM using 8L of petrol"

so when u oni pump half tank e.g. 4L, U cannot take 320 / 4 because 4L dun give u 320KM.

Therefore, I emphasize again, its only correct when u pump FULL TANK

Hope the above is not confusing.. =)

Hi hi...Thank you so much for sharing with me abt ur bike. Appreciate it alot hehe... Hmmm.. I believe I'm the 6rpm 100km/hr rider hehe... Now ride fastest was 120km/hr with my bike and I already scare like hell liao hehe.. And as I mentioned, I seldom speed lor.. I think my max most of the time is actually 90km/hr only hehe.. Hmmm.. Gotta say ur bike maintenace seems pretty low eh? Not bad not bad hehe.. Once again thanks for sharing.. Just making me more tempted to get SP only ah u hehehehehehe... :cheeky:

Hey collectees and lazy1000, thank you so so much for the explaination and advice for a newbie like me.. Hope u guys don't find me wasting ur time coz like in the end I got everything wrong.. Well, at least I got my caluculation method correct as in I calculate the way u mention Lazy1000... Just tat I travelled too short a distance lor. But u guys still carry on riding even when the indicator reach red right? Coz I will only hit slightly above 200km when it hit the red line. I think this time I'll try to ride longer... Till truely reaching empty liao then I pump.. Cc how many litres I can pump and the distance travelled hehe... Thanks to all really for being so helpful... Will update u guys abt my FC after I go for my next pump then hehe... :cheeky:

wa lau my license few month only, get bike 2nd week cornering low side liao, just as noob.

cheepos like me will open the tank and 'bioh' inside with torch. if got roughly 1 can of coke inside, ok!

hey dun worry bout it at all.. im much more glad if im of any help cos i also very noob myself..

btw.. no matter when u pump ur FC should be the same..

after running 320KM u pump 8L is equivalent to running 280KM u pump 7L..

the purpose of telling u when it hit red line, u still can go 50+ KM is not to ask u to pump only when its near empty but to let u have a rough idea of how much distance u still can go so u wun be caught unaware and run out of petrol in the middle of no man's land..
