Do the headlights turn brighter when you rev the bike in neutral? Do you have problem starting your bike (ie. no hard revs needed)? If the headlights do get brighter and no hard revs needed when starting your bike, it is quite safe to say that the battery's all right.

Bro, u can actually post ur requests or questions in the X1 portal.

To keep the cub community clean and please try not to post uneccessary threads as the moderators have a hard time maintaing them.

Regarding your problem, i believe its better to bring it to any bike shop to ask them to check with the volt meter and see if there is a need to change your battery. Normal battery lifespan is abt 10months to 12months.

After that, its recommanded to replace a new one in case it gives way on the road.

Cheers and out.

You know the bat. is weak when your electric start , signal light and horn not working. The rest runs on the engine dynamo.

Dunno whether you guys have this problem.

Can Try the Magnum Nano Gel battery Think also around 40 bucks. Its said that it has a high charge holding rate n low self discharge rate. Been using it for about a year on my wave.

Yes but most of the time, city riding is not enough to fully charge the battery. this causes the battery premature death/failure. Best way to maintain a battery is to have it trickle charged fully with the aid of a purposely manufactured battery charger.

Some threads before have info about a certain battery charger that is available at Sim Lim Tower for S$20-30.

liquid or dry battery better?

comparing between dry and wet cell prices, dry ones are more expensive by maybe 10 dollars...

lifespan of a wet cell, if maintained properly, should last longer then a dry cell... wet cells have been said to last from 1.5 years to 2 years....dry cells, 1 year to 1.5 years...

thats what i was told at least... however, like mentioned by Guapo 2 posts up, if your trips are short, premature death can occur....

sound like dry cell lifespan shorter and cost more expensive? any advantage using dry cell compare to liquid?

dry cells are otherwise known as maintainence free batteries... like your house tv remote control battery....

however, if you're a person that doesnt care about maintaining and checking the battery... using both types of batteries doesnt matter... its just a matter of budget..
