harlow guys!

what amount of pressure do u maintain ur bike tyres at?

i am riding a ybr125, and my wordings on my rear tyre read max 40psi. That is like 275kpa. Isn't that kinda high? o_O

in any case, right now i pump 230 for front and 210 for rear.

i understand different tyres require different pressures...but as a general guide what is the range??

40psi sounds really high to me...lol...

i pump front 34psi, rear 36psi...

the max readings on your tyre is to tell you that the max pressure you can pump is 40psi... any higher it might burst... hee...

My mech told me to pump about 220kpa for front and 240kpa for back.

I'm using Pirelli City Demon.

Then again... you have to see the load you are carrying... Are you constantly having a pillion? Or carrying heavy things?

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Actually, you will find that tire size is inversely proportional to reccomended tire pressure.

Looks like no one got my joke. :(

Look up Panaracer Tserv "Messenger" 1.25 on google. :(

He refering to his mountain bike tyres lah....Racer tyres can go more than 100PSI.

Kick start or electric start, same.....you must know the function. Nothing is really better than each other. Electric start, convenient. But kick starter, no need to worry about battery getting weak, though you need to put in some efforts. Big bikes, it will be hard to kick start because of the high compression, so you see most big bikes are electric started and most owners take good care of battery, and install voltmeter.

Kick start is however, prefered for dirt bikes because in case they fall in the trails, they can still fired up the bike. Electric starter may not be a good option for dirtbikes that does trailing. If you help push start a dirtbike, you know why no one wanna push start one in the dust.

I got it...used to cycle and no one believed me when I told them how high racer tyres need to be pump up, and it is not possible to pump using gas station air pump for racers.

No one got me then...had to show them proof from internet and won myself a meal, lol.

The Manual is refering to specific tyres fitted on the bike by the factory. My bike's manual shows 40PSI for front/back tyre Bridgestone T021. I've changed to Michelin 2CT and now my tyres pressure is 38/40PSI front/back.

If you maintain the original tyres then follow yr manual for daily use. If you ride agressively or track then you need to lower the pressure. If you change tyres then check with your new tyres' manufacture's recommendation.
