What are the certificates needed?

Basically i have a street legal exhaust that do not come with the certificates.

Sourced in by a shop that can source parts from Japan, USA and Europe.

I have emailed the manufacturer and they replied and is willing to fax me the European Homolagation Certificate for my bike model.

Besides this cert, is there any other cert i need to produce to get it certified?

Thanks for all the input! :cheeky:

Europe standard street legal too will be accepted by LTA with:

1. Certs states the exhaust suits the bike model/chassis.

2. Noise tested cert.

3. Write a formal letter to LTA Engr site, an officer will call u if he required more papers.

Tats only the paperwork before the inspection.

Dun mind sharing, what exhaust u r reffering to?

Good luck

ya curious wat exhaust it is because all street legal has to come w original papers and you also need to get a receipt from e bike shop to go along w the papers for inspection.

erm.. receipt may not be needed, provided a letter stating installation is done by the bikeshop.

I am trying to get Giannelli exhaust for the runner SP180 approved. Sourced in by Motoworld back then. Promised to get the certification then slowly forgotten already so cant be bothered to find them. Waste of time only.

Then thought got hope when motovation accessories start to bring in the exhaust.

then they said they will do certification only for new exhaust bought from them

Hmm... bo pian emailed the manufacturer, surprising their PR is better than the local dealer. After all, its their product, the lady was kind enough to fax me the homolagation cert and the approval cert by the Italian transport ministry by the very next day!

Called up LTA, they said i need to send via snail mail a copy of both certs accompanied by a letter of application which then they will look through and if its approved, they will send me a letter asking me to go for inspection.

You definitely need the certs. try to approach the manufacturer to see if they are willing to help.

Hi guys, i got the same problem here. I intended to buy a set of exhaust from Ebay, however the seller stated no certificate. The set of exhaust is brand new and street legal. In this case can i still got for inspection but without the cert?

Will LTA inspection base on the noise emission?
