flyaway,

buying new has its advantanges. price, sadly isnt one of them. hehehe!

but then again, when you think about it.. if you buy a 2nd hand bike and it gives you problem in the future (choi!!), wont that money spent to pay for repairs better used to buy a new bike which you know that you're the only rider it has ever known.

just my 2 cents.

for a cub i would think that buying a new or 2nd hand bike doesnt really matter much as its a low maintaince bike. just tt for a cub, chances are u can afford a brand new one as i assume its the cheapest kind of bike in the market. i would suggest that u get a 4 stroke machine rather than a 2stroke one of u really wan a super low maintaince kind of bike. from what i have seen and heard, a wave regardless of wad model is one of the most durable cubs around. it pratically runs whithout spoiling whereas the newer cubs around eg ( spark ) are less durable. but if u have a little cash to spare i wouldnt mind suggesting u in getting a spark for a start as its one of the most relax and torquey cub ard without the pick up of the 2 stroke. its one of the higher cc cubs ard.

for a cub bike shops cant chop u off the price much as .. its always jsut a cub unlike a sportsbike as the price range could be of a huge difference at a diff location. as mentioned above, bike production would be a better choice for u to purchase ur bike as it sells bikes at a much cheaper price compared to other reputable shops around. u mentioned tt money is one of ur piority. so i assume tt even a cut of 50 dollars on the usual price around will also be a great deal for u.

it doesnt matter if u would become good friends with a bike shop owner or not cuz i assume u are going to pay by installment so u would see him jsut mayb once a month but being a good friend with a good mechanic will be a much better choice  im sure alot of bros here can rec some of the better mechanic here :cheeky:

i agree w/ ^i||usiOns74^ that Bike Production offers one of the lowest prices around for 1st hand cubs (if u r willing to compromise for less friendly service)

have u tried calling them up or pay a visit to the shop?

if u r lost on where the shops are located..try searching for them thru http://www.streetdirectory.com using the streetname or postal code.

there's quite a few other bikeshops located nxt to Bike Production. so u can try walking ard that area. :goodluck:

Hi Flyaway...

Guess we're in the same boat.. My first bike took the word 'problematic' into a whole new meaning. Gave up on it a less than 4 mths after taking it. Made a lost naturally...

anyway, wadever it is... pls survey at as many shops as u can afford to. so u dun get cheated and get the best deal out of it.

Anyway, it's better if u can get brand new or a close-to brand new second hand... Lower risk of heartache...

Good luck with the search!
