wow... dunno if can borrow some of the mags from u.. especially those with reviews and info abt my bike.. u shld noe la.. every rider will like to noe more abt his/her ride...

ok, first off let me clarify that when i say FS, i mean the bike in my pic and the webbie u posted, and when i say F4i, i mean the bike u riding.

as for my mags, sorry but i cant find a single review of the F4i perhaps due to honda uk discontinuing the bike some time ago. UK are sportsbike fanatics the same way US are cruiser fanatics and when the FS was introduced in UK, it rampantly outsold the F4i, so mebbe it prompted honda uk to discontinue. the mag does have one or two reviews of the FS in second hand bikes shootouts as i mentioned, and this month's issue in fact has a review of second hand 600cc sportsbikes including the FS. u can check out http://www.fastbikesmag.com/issue.htm for details of their latest issue, though i myself haven bought it yet.

if i'm not wrong, ur F4i is the direct decendent of the very first CBR600 made by honda in the 80's. the FS was borne from a need for a sportier/racier supersports to rival competition, sparked first by the r6 in the late 90's. despite how u feel bout cbrf4i vs r6, back in late 90's the cbr600f4i wasn gonna win the sales race with the r6. not to mention world supersports races.

so honda made the FS wif the same engine, tuned it up and sold it alongside the f4i as an alternative option, and so that they (and owners) could go racing. it was by far more popular than the f4i and thus it gave birth to the rr, a completely new bike and a 'real racer' as opposed to 'alternative racier option'. so i suppose the FS was a 'lost generation' bike, a transition more than anything. can see some FS locally btw.

motorcycle history  . i'm such an avid reader of bikes that i've read the history of bikes from the birth of jap dominance in the form of the CB400 in the 70's (before the onslaught of the japs the history just too  ), too bad my riding/racing credentials dun match my reading credentials :cheeky:

Interesting facts there guys... But generally, I can summarize that different selections of bikes would differ for different people. To each his own, they say... Heh.. But of cos given a choice, i stated earlier that I'd take an R6 anytime cos I'm more used to the throttle-play even tho reviews says it sucks. The 6RR would be slower to pick up in Singapore where traffic light is aplenty. Have not tried personally handling the Suzuky6 but heard from most riders it's very very good.

yeah haha! thats the article i got the FS power/torque figures from!

but i guess that was from the days when huge gains could be made from mods. today's bikes, the manufacturers stepping over each other to produce the most powerful/torquey/handling bikes that they've practically done the tuning for us. exhaust kits and PC's could certainly make our bikes more powerful, but the gains are small comparatively eh?

haha funny how i make it sound like decades ago. it was only 5-7 years ago that the sportsbike revolution first began. hasn stopped since. i'm eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the 06 model 600cc supersports. i'm expecting a gsx-r1k5 looking gsx-r6 and underseat piped r6. and who knows wat awaits us in '07.....

if its pick-up ur looking for i think the ZX-6R is the way to go. yesterday saw for the first time the 05 ZX-6R, at a carpark in CCK when i went to pay for parking. that bike looked huge beside my CBR600RR. the weird thing is, beside a gsx-r1k5, i tot my bike looked huge. bikes getting smaller and can fit us asians better :cheeky:

and btw last nite passed by another black/silver 05 CBR600RR exactly like mine in front of beauty world opp al-azhar/al-ameen. donno if one of the black/silver 05 CBR600RR listed in this thread. wah getting more common, from 03 to the time i bought my bike, can hardly spot any CBR600RR on the roads.

actually if u wanna compare 600RR to other bikes, its still at 3rd place

1st Gsx

2nd R6

3rd RR

4th Ninja ( think e insurance kills )

i seldom see RR on e road too

i see more of 05 RR than 03/04RR in SG road

Where in NSH, its e other way round hehe

i believe in general the honda's in singapore follow UK/Euro designations and colour schemes, except where there is no UK/Euro model like the F4i. i actually had my heart set on the all-black 05 color scheme of US

izzit? but apparently in europe they only started with 05 model according to the mag; they even made it a point to remind 03 owners to raise the front mudguard before changing to 120/70 coz the stock mudguard scraped the center thread off the 120/70 tyres when they installed it. the 04 model apparently came with front mudguard that could accommodate the higher prflie tyre, and only the 05 model did yamaha uk fix 120/70.

Mech is correct, 03 and 04 comes stock with 120/60 profiles, only the 05s feature the higher profile 120/70s.

03s when changed to 120/70s especially under aggressive riding, the tyres heat up, expands and the tyres tend to kiss the front mudguard. This was feedbacked, the mudguards for 04s were rectified to accomodate 120/70 tyre change. Upon changing to higher profile, to keep the same centre of gravity, it was recommended to lower the front forks.

CBR bros, ur bikes look trick
