Kumar_83 : I notice the GI pro on another 2010 kawa last month when we went to the marshall course in muar. I asked him why does he need a gear indicator when the bike already comes along with it.. A/t him, the bike ECU will know that you are in 6 gear hence wont have the full power when the PCV is install. Hence they will 'trick' the ECU that u are still in 5th gear for the extra push.. Hence the GI pro to show u the rear gear position in.. I'm not sure if its the only way out or its the simple way out for the shop thou.. But for 1200++ i would rather keep in my pocket for that few hp gain..

Well it cld be.. but then all bikes wanting to get a PCV will then have to get a GI pro? Wld'nt Power commander USA thought of that? The GI Pro has a TRE as well, timing retard eliminator. Again, why wld you wanna mess with the timing when alot more cld be acheived with the PCV? That includes individual gear mapping.

:confused::confused::confused:

For me it only boils down to 1 thing for now.. the paticular shop is blowing its own trumpet all over the place while I'm wondering if they are even competent at all for handling tuning related issues. Sure you may have won races in MSS. But that may be due to imported rider competency rather then mech capability. Some time back a friend of mine told me he wonders if the map they give after each tuning session is even from his bike or downloaded template from the net as he experienced that even after tuning, his bike did not feel right.

Well... you guys decide. For now, that shop is banned from my list of wk shops.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

Maybe not all bikes have build in gear indicator thats y? Maybe should Email PCV and ask them what would be the recommended way to do it.. I will still go back to the shop ( other unit) to do minor service of the bike when needed ba..

Below is taken from the Power Commander webby. Thus why is there a need to have other addons from the other makes?

The NEW Power Commander V

Power Commander V Product Introduction

The New Power Commander V is loaded with tons of new features. It is compatible with 2009 and newer bike models. Below you will find some Power Commander V features. •Reduced size from PCIIIusb (less than half of the size of PCIII)

•USB powered from computer (9 volt adapter is no longer needed for programming)

•2 position map switching function built in (map switch not included)

•Gear input (allows for map adjustment based on gear and speed)

•Analog input (allows user to install any 0-5 volt sensor and build an adjustment table based on its input such as boost or temperature)

•With gear position input connected the PCV is capable of allowing each cylinder to be mapped individually and for each gear (for example: on a 4 cylinder bike with a six speed transmission there could be up to 24 separate fuel tables).

•Unit has a -100/+250% fuel change range (up from -100/+100%). This allows more adjustment range for 8 injector sportbikes

•10 throttle position columns (up from 9 on PCIIIusb)

•Enhanced “accel pump” utility (increased adjustment and sensitivity ranges

This was my exact question...

It was right there in the web. Frankly I trust my pocket better.

I had met the GTR with the GI-pro gear indicator and he also told me the same thing. But when I asked him for the dyno graph he could not. He told me the bike pulls smoother.…

I'm also like you I will not even go there for anything.

Not Julius

Group 2 only 4 person.

Group 2

18) Desiree

19) Frederick Teng

20) Julius Cheong

21) Frederick Tham

I know 3 of them except Julius Cheong. So I thought you are him. You are not in STOC's list.

Nope never in the STOC list. I'm a independent biker not attached to any group. Anyway I will be heading up to KL a day earlier then meet up the group at the event hotel the next day. Thus my name's not listed. Anyway there are more in the group, just that the Fred's group is the slower group.

Anyway I'm riding the GTR. If I'm not wrong the only Spore GTR going up to Ipoh. Cheers.

All Connie's owner who have changed their front fork springs to Ohlins with S******* Motors. Personal advise from me is to take the fork to have it checked by another workshop. Personal incident to me is i spent a total of $890 for just the front fork. $290 is the initial sum i thought. But the parts they spoiled and the workmanship by another shop makes up the rest of the $600. It was a mistake learn and a really big eye opener to the level of skill MT has dropped. I still have photos and parts to prove my point. The way i see the other workshop taking the forks out is 110% more confident when doing it at S******* Motors. PM me if u want more details. Or meet up for coffee and i will bring the parts for you to inspect and see.
