Hi Advrider,

Tq for the advise. Previously i installed the l valve

So that easier to pump air. Overtime the l. Valve loosened. And the l valve hit against the brake caliper as i was pushing the bike backwards.

As the Valve hit the caliper, it was actually tightening the valve

Into the rims and this overtightening caused the threaded part to break

Off.

I am now changing to Bridgeport at Unique!

So guys please check if u have installed

Aftermarket l valve, make sure it is tight and not loose. To have the valve breaking iff when travelling at speed will be disastrous!

So any issues with installing the L valve into our TPS?

Bridgeport is the way to go. Not the cheapo L-valve. Imagine breaking your valve at high speed.

yahoo[/MENTION].com;7695032]After installing the Bridgeport, I asked the mech to remove both the TPMS as both batteries.

Guess have to check how much does the new TPMS cost and whether it is worthwhile to change.

According to the manual the battery in the tpm should last you 5 years. Price check from online it's usd$130 exclude shipping.

For those who changed your TPM do note that it's not plug and play. You still need the computer to register your TPM code. So far I only know Loois motor does it if you bought the bike from them other then that got to go back to NeverShine aka everSh*t to do it. You got to leave your bike overnight for a 1 hour job and they dont keep stock.

Cheers

i dont think there is a definite mileage to hit before u change clutch housing and clutch plates.. as i am currently not in singapore, 1 shop quoted me $1500 to change clutch plates, clutch housing, engine oil, shaft oil, rear brake pads which i think it is an ridiculous amount of money. I just called bikeworks and they only quote me $270 for clutch plates..

Apologies for posting here as I'm only riding a Rebel450 and not Kawa but I couldn't help reading all the postings here and it got kinda interesting and I noticed the clutch problem

If you're experiencing clutch slippage, then you can try certech gel. It forms back a very thin layer of ceramic-metal using metal to metal contact and high heat (that causes the wear and tear in the first place) and that restores the affected parts eg clutch plates. Just squeeze it into the transmission housing.

Worked for me very well. But then again mine is a very old bike - anything would have worked very well for me haha
