We had our first meeting today! Fx, jojo, jayel and me met at a neighbourhood plaza and had a little yet interesting chat today. Yes, we started with the few of us. We would hope to see more of you guys in the near future.

Details discussed today are:

Where to get parts? Where to get our C70 done up? What are the concepts we are looking at to do up our beloved rides? Where to meet again in future? Planning of overseas trips on our little bulletproof ride. Setting up a super cub club......etc

Those who are interested to join us the next round, do contact me.

Some pics for us to remember the meet-up!

Try Lim ban huat at blk 1006 bukit merah lane 2. May not be the cheapest but pretty good with old bikes. Ah hee at Hamilton rd also very familiar with c70 but he is alone n too busy most times. East side u can try the shop inside changi vicom, ah sang. Most shops don't carry c70 parts except for common items . Best to get your own parts first.

hey bro jayel, yeah i know ah sang.but i dunno his work.did u saw a vintage honda bike there b4? i dunno wat model, but the bike is strong.like a big brother of the honda cub.

Actually c70 is a simple machine and any shop will do. The problem I think is because some shops are not willing to spend time and effort on such a small machine because firstly, they cannot charge workmanship like they can with modern big bikes and secondly, the parts are cheap and therefore the mark up on parts is peanuts compare to what they can make from big bikes. Some are not even willing to find the parts for you because it is not worth the effort. As far as the shops in singapore are concerned, I find that those mechanics (older ones, usually) that have an interest in old bikes tend to be more willing to put in the effort for bikes like c70 especially if you can strike up a relationship with them based on the common interest in this lau pok kai bike...:)

Ah sang quite ok. He is best when he is not too busy. ...:) I think he do quite a bit of small bikes like waves etc and c70 not a problem to him but parts you had better source yourself. He is a nice guy and I am quite happy with his work so far. Oh, I remember that once I was trying to find 10m dome nuts (fine thread) and he gave me like half a dozen for free, all still shiny....:)

I miss riding my c70. It's now parked in my living room. Away from dust, sunlight and rain. Coe is ending in dec. Gonna have to renew it to keep this pretty baby on the road.

Nice to see you guys keeping the group alive. Good on ya!

2nd to Jayel

Ah Hee from hamilton road is a reliable guy. He use to have a rnd light C70 and sold it for 2.5k. he also use to work for Kah Motor in the 70's. but time is contraint for him. i known hi quite well.

next is the uncle beside a bird shop at lavender street. he always keep spares for small parts of c70. but he always busy, need to make appointment properly.

my favourite now is Apeng at Kranji. it is at previous caltex petrol st. he's sincere in doing your bike regardless of what type. he live in jb and can get alternative parts from jb. price very reasonable and honest. my leak engine oil is solve by him in less than a day.. Change O ring and charge me $20. to me , its a good price for a delicate problem.

Cheers!

Ya, his A plate round hl! Like you mentioned, time contraint for him.

Recently I've been visiting the west coast rd shop. Nice guy too and close friend of jingers. He will be another c70 kaki soon when his round hl has completed its restoration.
