Hi thanks for the comforting comments. must be my decision to change the engine that made the bike sad. coz this morning i found a patch of oil at the parking lot. i think the engine is leaking engine oil!

now a painful decision:

1. scrap get back remaining COE money + savage any parts

2. get it fixed at dunno how much, probably $100+

No more regrets.

Hi all, due to many asking me about a bigger engine for the c70. I think i will help by answering questions here. Do note that an engine swap is illegal and can get your vehicle impounded. Thus, if you have any questions about legality issues pls stick to PM. I do not want to disclose openly.

Moving on, as you may already know, the honda cub engine is base off a very old design of 50cc "Monkey" bikes. It grew into a culture where many people started modding their honda horizontal engine. There are many companies in JAPAN that specialises in aftermarket parts for these engines, some of the better known are TAKEGAWA, KITACO, DAYTONA, POSH.. etc. You may have heard of the last two because you can get fake daytona and posh parts such as fast throttle.

Then when 'PITBIKES' became popular, it used this same engine design. Many of these bikes are made in CHINA, even DAYTONA JAPAN base its factories in China. So naturally the chinese copied all pitbikes/engines/parts and mass produced them in cheap price.

So today, the engine have evolved from the 50cc to all the way 160cc stock from factory, copying Japanese released modified factory engines. Lets see what are available today. Some brands i know of are LIFAN, Zongshen, YinXiang aka YX;

50cc

90cc

110cc

(LIFAN) 125cc - 4spd gearbox and manual clutch

(LIFAN) 140cc - same thing but with a bigger piston

(LIFAN) 150cc - 4spd, new features includes, ORK aka Outer rotor kit(lightweight flywheel which makes the engine rev fast) and Daytona replica engine clutch cover with oil filter.

YX 150/160cc - Has similiar features as lifan150 but new tech design, Kawasaki KLX scrambler cylinder head and piston(This allows for bigger piston upsize option, can upsize to 180-190cc. Superior cylinder head design as well for more power.)

Z155 (Zongshen, Same factory that makes DAYTONA race engines) - Similiar features as YX 150/160.

So a stock engine makes about 5-6HP. A stock 160cc can make about ~16hp. That is three fold the power. And any other engine variant probably falls between this range. A YX/Z 150/160 can make up to 20+ hp, which is quite insane, but if u are not look for so much power maybe u can try a 125cc.

All these engines can mount into a C70 with very little modifictions. They are all 12V so the bike's wiring, bulbs have to be edited to 12.

You can google "PITBIKE" "LIFAN" "YX160" "Z155" these terms for more info.

I suspected it as I have more then half tank n once I rode it often n finish after 150km. two times left it for a month, petrol becomes empty when I confirm got more than half tank
If left for too long, petrol does evaporate.

You might want to check your tank for rust holes. Try smelling your bike for petrol fumes. The petrol may evaporate if there are any holes but if ur tank is perfect there should not be any evaporation.
