Yup, Tech 3 going with Michelins and heavy factory support. Likely that Toseland is partnering Jorge Lorenzo.

Toseland + Lorenzo? You serious???? o__O

Why not? Maybe Rossi will partner Edwards yet again, and Toseland + Lorenzo... cos Rossi and Lorenzo like will not be able to get along.... :cheeky:

Quite true. Does that mean Tech 3 is going to get more factory support? We don't want another Melandri in the making...

I think it will be quite fun to watch Toseland + Lorenzo against Edwards + Rossi. Good SBK + 250GP combination.

Tech 3 will get full factory support. But then again, silly season is starting to say it could be even Bridgestone shod....

Lots of rumours....but I hope it's true Colins stays cuz Rossi says he's a good development rider.

i truly support if toseland were to join rossi coz i tink toseland is more aggresive n sure he will push rossi to the max.....n maybe cn join up in the lead pack n combine wif rossi to stop stoner frm gettin his 2nd championship. ( dis season sure stoner win one, confirm!) hehe.........

Lots of info on the web suggest Toseland will be in Tech 3 already. Valentino's colleague, yes. Team mate, nope. And Yammie smart to do that because many times, WSBK riders showed they need time to get used to MotoGP machines. Another rider James Ellison was said to be a classic example of a good racer in WSBK, came in to MotoGP given sub standard machinery, had a bad career in MotoGP. So bad is his career that when he jumps back to WSBK, he could not even get factory ride contracts.

MotoGP can be quite a gamble for WSBK riders.

Full factory support means that what the R&D department came out with, you will be on the list to get the parts once it's all good.

Classic example is Honda....only Repsol is the Factory Honda, while the rest are known as Satellite Teams. They lease the MotoGP machines from Honda and depending on the $$$ they pay and contract signed, that determine the kind of machinery the team will campaign for MotoGP. So Honda teams right now, after the factory team will be Gresini Honda who is the next on the line to get the parts. LCR and Konica are the least piority. KR is also at the bottom mix.

When Sete Gibernau was around that era, satellite riders are given parts based on performance. Like in 2004, only towards the 2nd half of the season, then Honda start piling him with new parts, which is not really useful for Sete because he had to re setup the "new bike" to fight against Rossi. That's why quite a few fans do not like this HRC approach, which is actually Repsol who is the main culprit because they pay the most $$$. Repsol said before something like if Honda is winning, as much as possible, they want it to be Repsol Honda.

Now there seems to be a new approach by Duc and Yammies to have a 2nd Factory Team which they put their new found talents, to nurture and develop them, which still having a "Division A Factory Team". I hope Suzy and Kawi do that too, be it 1 more or 2 more factory rides, cuz next yr there will be a new flood of new talents coming from 250GP, SBK and maybe AMA.
