Guys..i tried my friend wave jus now n i did a e brake..

as a result i can hear something rubbing against something from under e bike..

but i cant rectify e prob..

 

i was thinking if it was e tyre rubbing against e front fender..did any of u encounter this?

anyway,for ur info..e front tyre size is 80/80-17..

 

anyway to solve it?

maybe it's just the rear brake pad.....my wave last time also got this problem.....but i can feel it very obviously on my rear wheel though

did ur frene lower his fork? if yes tat means 2 low liao...wave max can lower 1 1/4 inch onli(sometimes still hit fender).. tried b4 front mudguard gt 1 hole liao

his fork is e blue one..but he nvr lower his fork lehz..

gt change b4 huh? take a look at e mudguard..e 1 infront of engine..normally black color 1.. e if gt marks indicatin tyre rubbin

Topic : Wave S Problem

Description : Engine Auto Cut off

Wave S , Engine auto cut off when running more than 80 kmh for long time (~5 minutes). Anyone having the similar problem ? Have to stop at the road side wait ~2 minutes the motor can start again. Check the spark plug no fire when the engine cut off. Park at the road side for 2 minute every things back to normal. What could be wrong ? Help please.... Thank you. :smilie:

My Wave-S having the similar problem. No able to solve until now. 3 year already. So keep speed below 80 km/h you will not have problem. HOpe that some one having the solution and post it here.

ok..prob rectified liao..

1st reason..suspension too soft..

2nd reason being tt screws were fixed on e front fender n in hard braking..tyres were actually come in contact with e screws...

 

how much fork oil do u all put in e aftermarket front shocks?

ur spark plug coil mayb gt problem oso.. cos as for powercut for wave s is thru cdi n spark plug coil.. btw hw much u gt 4 e racing 1? wat brand?

of cos not!!e aftermarket forks are quite a hassle to do so..though i know e procedures but i guess mechanics have a reason y they are called mechanics..haha..Jus wanna know how much u guys put into it only..stock=50ml..

I give out liao. I sold this bike last week back to the bike shop. He know my problem and I am getting a new Wave i from the bike shop. The racing CDI cost about $120 ( Normal CDI Ah Boy sales at $68). It does not work on my bike not recommended this racing CDI. Run on Malaysia highway I get the most 110KM/h, not much diff for these wave using normal CDI.

 

Sorry I cannot remember the racing CDI model, It is came from the same manufacturer as the original wave CDI.

 

Plug coil – I think of that but never change and test....

Now I hope that my next wave i will not give me much problem.

i tink e amt is standard..bt e viscousity matters whether u wan hard or soft

like for eg u ride ur bike at 60 to 70km\h then u feel the bike jerk.. like ur piston like pullin like that..than gt this one mono tone sound from ur engine nt the usual sound weere the piston is werkin?

 

ma friend have dis.. he's riding a x1..he go back to his bike shop den they bleed the carb gt water inside he ride okie than at night same thing again.. he wanan go yahama service centre but he scare he must put the bike there..

 

so any idea guys wat are the symtomps?

from wat u posted, i think water managed to get into e carb.

a loosen nut or screw MIGHT cause tat.

hey, i am also experiencing this problem...a metallic hissing sound at certain gears certain speed e.g gear 3/60kph, gea 4/80kph...i also want to rectify this problem, though my bike still can go beyond 100kph.

 

Was thinking, either chain loose or the carburettor is dirty, cos the sound seems to be coming from the engine/carburettor area.

best is to let a mechanic check and do some servicing so u can have a peace of mind... though abit sian having to go motordiam .. maybe its ur bike plastic parts? my front fairing is old and always have tat 'ziii' sound, especially at high speed, louder than 2 stroke bike
