oh yes, just like to ask for some opinions here...

i was at my faithful old bike shop earlier (which i bought my first 2 bikes) and have a long chat with the boss...

after telling him my style of riding and requirements for bike, he suggest that i continue to get a street bike instead of sports bike due to many factors...

no prize for guess, he tried to sell me a 06FZ1... in fact, he made me a offer so attractive that i am really tempered to go for it...

1. to take in my S4 at $9.5k (machine + my full system)

2. to offer me OTR at $18.5k (already including 3rd party + FT insurance)

3. to transfer a number plate FOC (not fanastic but 3 out of 4 digits are repeated)

any comments my friends?

haha.. well.. pretty good deal.. however, many times we know what bike suits us judging from our style of riding.. most of the times are due to the style we cultivated from riding our previous bikes.. but styles can be changed.. eg: flaky used to ride S4 as well as TA150.. 1st time we saw him, a K5 600 and now a 954.. team_four also used to ride a S4.. if u think back now, i dont think we can imagine them riding a a street bike..

the thing u might want to think abt is more to ur requirements rather than ur style.. it is definately more practical to get a street bike rather than a sports.. unless u wants to go down track.. or that ur field of interest is in sports..

ultimately, it's up to u.. what i feel is buying a bike u like is better than buying a bike that pple try to convince u to buy..

very much like what you said! :thumb:

personally, i am not much as sportsbike person to start with. always like easy riding and comfort. Speed to me is secondary (plus no balls of steel to Wack The Beast kekeke..)

but there is always this little wanting in my life to try burning rubber at breakneck speed... want to have my tyres tear up by the tracks... 'cup' corner till sparks fly... :D

thats why did thought of changing to a full racing mean machine just to satisfy my greed to conquer. it the 'been there done that' achievement...

as most already know... i am not as young as most of you and riding to me is just passion and not for speed or thrill... even if i get a sports bike, i seriously doubt i will keep it for long...

will certain bear in my your words of wisdom "buying a bike u like is better than buying a bike that pple try to convince u to buy"

thanks man!

Dun have to be A series one lah... so long as number is alright think FX, FY, FZ series also quite nice...

just came back from Mxx Mxxxxx...

FX22P, FZ22D selling at $1.7k...

FX999X selling at $2.7k...

the price for the plates are alright... but their take in value for my bike as well as price for the new bike is not as attractive as Axxxxxx difference of about $1.5k...

looks like most likely will go back to the latter... not because of just the price alone... but think the boss also quite one kind...

i first spoke to the sales guy... told him i will sell my bike back, take a new bike from them and also the license plate... ask for the best price... he say cannot quote as he is quite new... so he approach a senior guy... then the senior guy ask me what is the best deal 'outside' offer... i told him already he then say he speak to the boss and try to match a good deal...

at the end... i hear the boss say no deal as the best price he can take my bike is only $8.5k...

considering i am letting them earn 3 items already... i am sure if he match the price at Axxxxxx, they will still earn (just less only)... still give me that one kind attitude... :nono:

We had a recent mass cleanup of quite a few off-topic chat threads in Sportsbikes section, and currently the various section mods are in the process of doing the same for their respective sections.

The way I comprehend ravenSP's post, he's requesting for tcss to be cut down in this thread and has no intention of closing the thread (yet).

We believe he will be impartial in carrying out his moderating duties regardless of the age of the bird or when the thread was started (CB rules don't apply across the board), so we seek everyone's understanding for this issue.

Actually I agree with Mpex. I think maybe can cut down on the TCSS part and focus more on the trips organization and conversation (where to meet, what to bring, things to look out for, experiences on the ride to share, etc). There is already a few TCSS threads around. But when organizing a ride, can use this thread as the link to organize and finalize trip participants.

Just 1 GSR600's worth of opinions...

thought you said you will work till 10.30 so i set to 11... when you say abit late is later than 11pm?! :giddy:

also guys, previously we used to meet at Paya Lebar Carltex cos most people stay around there... but now after looking at the profile of the remaining core members, i think Paya Lebar Carltex may not be such a central location...

thats why i am thinking of finding a new rally point that would more ideal...

can i have a indication of your preference please. thanks...

kenneth's suggest:

1. Shell Station at AYE toward Tuas

2. Any reasonable location at west side (since most of the time we take 2nd link).
