cannot, very obvious why right? Rd tax can be renewed together with the insurance on the spot at the insurance co., provided the bike didnt need to send for inspection.

 

mitsui location at shenton area, dont drive a car there to renew ur insurance, too bloody ex for carpark...bike ok...

can i ask if renew roadtax at post office or vicom , does we have to provide the insurance that covered the road tax validlity ? ?cos i have not renew my insurance yet..

i also got my letter to renew my road tax..but the bike shop told me that he cant get the previous inspection letter for me..

 

better go to inspect then renew on the spot...

 

roughly how long does it take to inspect the bike ah? from waiting to passing?

follow the sign can le.. they will ask u one.. just told them u come for inspection can le..

I decided to go for inspection on Mon cos workplace suddenly gave half-day off... went in looking very blur... no bikes there at all... the inspector told me to ride to bike testing area (no signs to show where)... once in place, he told me to start do the payment 1st...

 

by time i paid, he already finished the visual inspection and started with the brakes and alignment... chatted with him a bit... he never mentioned anything about my rear plate (with nickname, no black tape)... althought my headlights failed, overall my bike pass lor...

 

when finally done, the casher asked me for my insurance details... I told her that i planned to do it after the inspection... she said i should have done it BEFORE the inspection... tat way can pay for the inspection and road tax at the same day...

dont koe how bright they want...but overall pas can liaoz hehe

Yes, you need to have

 

1) Valid insurance cover the period of rd tax

2) Inspection cert

3) $16.80

 

in order to renew

i have never heard of phantom passing on stock headlights

Need some fellow phantom help, me going to send my bike for first inspection, just received letter to go for inspectation. they give my until nov lah. then my insurance is due in Nov also, no letter yet. much i go and pay for insurance(even if it is not due yet,can i just go and renew w/o letter from NTUC?) first then go inspectation?

2 main options for you... but both no need u to do it immediately, so can slowly think and do later...

 

1. Wait till start Nov, go for inspection... with inspection cert, go to Income insurance main office to pay for both insurance and roadtax at same time... tat way, ur insurance sure to cover the date of road tax...

 

2. Wait till start Nov, go to Income insurance main office, tell them u wan to be insured till certain specfic date (to cover road tax)... then bring the insurance cert when u go for inspection... then pay for both inspection and road tax at the same time...

inspection cert is valid for 3 months...

 

possible to renew insurance till date of road tax, provided the dates are relatively close... i extended my current Mitsui insurance about a week to cover the date of road tax nicely... so when the 6mths is up liao, i will renew my insurance for a yr, as well as my road tax for a yr...

yes, insurance must cover throughout the period of roadtax.

not even a day lesser.

 

unless your current policy already cover you for the next 6 months, if not u have to renew
