Wow. Erm, as a new rider (albeit an old one), I had my reservations for joining groups. However, as I am one of the very few in my group of friends who ride, sometimes I do wish to have some advice. I think ViciousKitty74 is just trying to share her experience so lets not blow this up further. We can all make our own decisions here.

For e.g. Although i do have my reservations at first, I do like what I read from Cellardoor's posts and clarifications.. Will PM u my number soon! After replacing my phone. Haha.

Hi RegineLee,

Nice of you to be upfront about giving attention finally.

So who might you actually be, behind the scene. Someone who has multiple nicks that I probably did hit a nail on the head about who you might naturally be?

I certainly is not short on getting attention, but to have a worm crawl out of the woodwork to pay attention to me.

I guess its already proven that I am successful. Thank you very much, for advertising for me further.

Woah! Have beem around for 4 years and finally can't resist to make a first post, but I do have to agree with you totally. Some people are just so self righteous!

True.

But then there are some people who are really pissed off when the self righteous spoke the truth which blew off their lying, cheating, pretentious online game.

Opps. I forgot to reply Reginelee about my absense.

Apparently, the kid missed me.

So here goes. Like some of the older groups and bikers here. We are all busy with volunteering.

I was kinda full day volunteering at the SEA GAMES. And my Android phone does not have the Tapatalk for accessing this page.

So RegineLee. I applaud your sticking up for CellarDoor.

Its almost like back in the old days, where followers of Leaders will 'show support' of their leaders by ganging together like minded friends to tell off whoever they think is against their leaders.

Fairly the PAP style.

(Cellardoor. This Regine Lee might not be riding with you, or is using this same nick which you know of. So I am not lying the blame at your door.)

To me, this has happened so many time. Its just same kinda shitz, different day and different little prat.)

Completely unsolicited, I have to say. Still, I'll say the same thing to every and anyone, let's put the matter to rest. We are a cult riding group and so much more, but not so complicated la. Just a bunch of people who seemingly are very free to talk cock all day on whatsapp and once in a while meet for kopi or riding. Really. That's all. That and the 1000 dollar member fee you have to transfer to me when you join. Haha. Not too soon for jokes I hope!

Hope to see you guys someday :)

I'm one off the members in this chat group and I don't even have my license yet. Everyone is nice and willing to help newbies like me. Plus I always ask stupid questions yet everyone still answers my queries patiently.

I don't get it though. Why the animosity, even if only a hint?

I've always been a lone rider. My riding friends are few and they were all cl2 tourers when I was taking 2b, so we couldn't actually click. So, after riding for about 2-3 years and the occasional once in a few months meet ups with my riding friends, I figured I could do with some riding friends. Riding with people instead of hitting the roads alone when I feel the itch (especially after getting a new bike, you know?) could be a nice change.

So here's what I did. I looked through the forums. I saw that a couple of guys were somewhat in the same place that I was. Asking if anyone wanted to meet/ride in certain threads, with nobody replying. I created this thread, and then texted these two guys, if they wanted to form a group so we could get get-together sessions for riding or whatever.

Met them shortly, and it hit off from there. More and more people came in, we meet once in a while. We talk cock during work hours. We've built something more than a 'riding group'. More than anything, I feel that we've built genuine friendships.

We don't discriminate license or bike class. I always say, we've got L to CL2, kup to ducati, it doesnt really matter. We go as fast as the slowest rider (which is usually me......haaaaaa).

I'm not doing sales or anything. I don't preach anything to anyone (neither does anyone else in the group). It's really not that complicated, and any of you guys are welcome to join us or even come in for a peek and get to know some of the people inside.

Another reason why I set up this group instead of going out and finding groups to join is that, as mentioned, I am generally a shy person and I understand that sometimes people are apprehensive about joining groups because the people inside already know each other and the new members are usually afraid of feeling left out. You know, the 'older' members having their own inside circles and whatnot.

We've been around for more than a month, but not everyone has met everyone and our gatherings are usually small from 2-5 people usually. Simple stuff. Meet for coffee. Short ride long ride. Jb. Anything you can think of, and if you have a lot of things you can think of, join us, and tell us.

Hi Cellardoor,

Thank you for having me in your group chat.

Unfortunately, I choose to leave, as your choice of doggy does not have the training to make it pleasant to stay with your group.

I do not associate with scums, because its a age old saying, your keep scums as friends, you will forever be just be growing scums.

You keep classy friends, you will be classy. Hope you understand.

Thanks, Ride Safe, and stay safe. On Road, Online and as a person. Cheers!

And every female, whether or not they like it or not, will have to go thru it.

Of course, unless that female was never a female in the first place.

Makes you wonder how some doggies behave now, and how it will be when they get older. Garanteed progression.

Anyway, my encounter with Regine, reminds me so much of that dunno what 'Ling' gal.

Wondered how many bikers bf she finally settled down with.

The other girls who were kinda her friend on the forum, most have settled down with kids and is away from her already.

Especially love that one incident, where I was in a injured biker's room reading thru his comics and he was on the comp, where she suddenly ping him for a chat and make friends. Seems like these kinda gals love new community groups to dominate.

He turned around, ask me who it was, and it took me some time to realise its her.

And wow, the info I provided him, and his reply to that gal was simple: "Yes I ride a big bike, but I understand your bf just flew off to Taiwan for his NS. Can I get his approval first before I have to pillion you?"

Mind you, I wasnt intimate with my friend. We are kinda colleagues. And he has my whole hearted wishes, that if he likes that kinda gal, go ahead lah.

She immediately block him off the chat and drop offline. *giggle*

It was interesting fun those days though.

There was even this incident, to gather whatever attention on her. She accused the big team of female riders of discriminating her. And the gals were like. "Huh? Who is this person? Is she a rider? Has she ever rode with us, or at least some big enough group where she formed that impression and spread it around?"

And after a while, then its nope. She isnt a rider, just a random pillion. Some kinda person wanting attention from groups she wanted to venture in and make 'new friends'.

It would have been fine, except this kinda person, tend to want to portray others as bad so she will look very 'innocent'. So we all, one way or another ganna from her. And oh yes, she is popular.

And strangely, even one gal, message me to explain that she wasnt such a bad gal.

Apparently, while most of the time, she ignored this one gal. And when it becomes apparent that we will be all out to 'detest' this gal. Ling just out of the blue spoke to this gal and 'make friends'. And thus the gal spoke up for Ling.

Love the dynamics of manipulation ehhh.....

Anyway, the gal was plump and she wasnt having a lot of confidence. While Ling was popular with the boys and she brings along several really slim pretty g/fs of hers to be pillions for group of young men.

In my own opinion. This gal is 100 times much more decent then Ling. The gal has very nice jawline and the most fasinating almond shaped eyes. She is now happily married with kids and lots and lots of lovely food and holiday pics to share.

While Ling......she just died off into oblivion. Maybe not into oblivion. Just somewhere the older matured people will never want to stay stranded in.

Okay la. I really don't know what to say already.

I suppose I should try to defend the image of the group by talking about why I started it in the first place.

1) New or old riders who have little or no riding friends, to make riding friends

2) Experienced and inexperienced riders to share experiences and make friends

3) Talk cock, social support, what have you.

The concept is simple. I had few riding friends, and joining a group always intimidated me, because people would all already be familiar with one another and me coming in would be weird and scary, somewhat. So start my own lor slowly get people together, once in a while can go for meals, drinks, hanging out, wash bike, see bike stuff together, maybe tour as well.

We've done all of that. We've had fights. We've had people leave. But that's what people do.

We are not a one-united-front group. Nobody ganged up on either you or her during your tiff. Most of us reading were talking nonsense trying to lighten the mood. I was asking who wanted free ice cream, literally. We're not getting a group name or T-shirts. We're just people in a whatsapp chat group, which makes it easier to get together every now and then.

We have never had an outing with more than 50% of the group present, because our outings are staggered and usually spontaneous. Talk cock during the day, evening ask who wants dinner. Let's go. Friday night, no plans? Let's go riding, or sit at Yishun Dam. Quite simple, really.

Learners in the group ask for tips, be it riding, lessons, TP, or buying bike.

I would like to tell you that the people in this whatsapp group are perfect, but we're not. Neither am I, neither are you. I want to tell you that after you left, people were gracious and completely understanding, but I cannot.

I cannot speak for these people. I am not their leader, not the kind you imagine me to be. They do not follow my orders, and I do not expect them too. I fought for them, like I am doing so now, not because they're perfect or never wrong, but because of the people who might want to join us in future, and might be led to having misconceptions about the group. I always say, come in, talk, leave if you can't fit in. I never removed people, and any and everyone is welcome. Hayabusa to kups to bicycle, we have it all.

You're a nice person, and you are entitled to your opinions, as we all are, and I respect that you voice your concerns. You're right on some counts, but not all. I talk so much, but at the end of the day..still the same la. I would tell the prospective new members, come see see before you judge.

Thank you for sharing your experience, but I still encourage new members to have their own experience.

We have all kinds of people in the group. Some people don't like some, and I'm not universally well-liked either, but that's life. They may not always back me, or listen to me when I try to put out fires and plead with them to be gracious, but I'll stand by them because they make up the imperfect group that I have created, and I believe in the group.

Your child come out ugly, you throw meh. No right..

And there you have it Cellar door. You recruited people to join your group for what purpose? To provide entertainment for your children(your initial group of followers)?

Your children are ugly, but you as a parent did what kind of discipline? That analogy works both ways. When you allow your child to misbehave, you allow your own shame to your own family. You. Not anyone else isn't it. Especially you are the one jioing people to join. Your advertising sounds fantastic.

And yes established groups has code of conducts and ethics and possibly even a name. Its intimidating for people who do not have the discipline or want to conform.

But ultimately, what is your intention? To form a core group of friends you can ride with, plan with and actually count on.

Do you need it this big. Which you still have not mastered the art of dealing with people and situations.

So what it's going to be. A group of cowboys and girls that is similar to jb town with you as the advertising face.

Or an actual respectable group that when people say is led by Sbf's Cellar door aka so and so. And its members are all so fun and nice. Some group of riders anyone will want to ride and make friends with.

Where you insist it isn't like that, but what I see is exactly like that. Else you will have just form your small core group and quietly be riding together instead of advertising for folks to join you on this forum.
