well.. wat i saw was in the papers.. no comments..

does anyone have the article? i can't seem to find it online.

did it overrun or veer off the runway?

seems a little hard for it to overrun the runway unless the student was aiming to land at the last 1/4.

always sad to hear things like that.

do a proper strap in and fly safe!!

makes more sense now. is the pilot okay? reminded me of the flipping incident happened to one of the first solo student in pearce. thank goodness for 5 point harness in the s211, the student walked away without any injury other than a bruised ego.

no lah senget means either tyre near limit (Sia very strict on tyres) or raining (last night got one kind of rain on east singapore)

pilot error shouldn't be cos the plane got traction stabilizer (computer controlled)

take off go around

oh...

if im not mistaken, there is this TO/GA around the thrust levers. but what is the function of it?

'go around' is when the tower asks the pilot to abort final landing and go around, correct?

Well, wait till you see this:

The pilot was crabbing his 747 to align it to the runway.

And yes, pilots have to be trained to do that...

By the way, Sunny sillypore has been windy nowadays...maybe it's probably the monsoon period

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR (1-15 DECEMBER 2007)

The Northeast Monsoon has onset over Singapore during the last few days of November 2007. Weak to moderate Northeast Monsoon wind condition is expected to continue prevailing during the next fortnight.

During this period, Singapore should generally be windy. Short duration showers with thunder are expected on 5 to 7 days, mainly in the afternoon and early evening. In addition, widespread intermittent rain could also occur on 1 to 3 days, arising from surges of moist and unstable Northeast Monsoon wind to the region.

Another nice windy day to spend by the beach tomorrow. :cheeky:
