guys , i wanna share a bad experience .

ytd at yishun street 72 , block 768 .

the block beside the swimming pool .

was walking home , and spotted a nice bike , so i just stand there see see ,

then the owner came , looking at me as tho i did smth to his bike , i kept quiet .

den after that , i walk towards a TA200 nearby , to see if and mods have been done , wanna check it out , if there is , maybe i can learn and gain experience ma ,

then that Mother ****ing faggot , take his handphone out , and take a pic of me next to the TA200 , with flash somemore , cause at night , thinking that i dun know that he took a pic of me ,

WTH LOR !??!?!?!

then i walk towards him , i say , bro , if u are thinking that i am here to steal anything including bikes , i'm not doing anything .

then he replied , ya , cause u are not doing anything yet , then he ride off already ,

i actually want him to delete my photo sia ,

whoever u are , if i ever see u again , please stop thinking that i am a bike robber !

tho i am still taking my 2B , stuck at prac 5 . but i still deserve some respect , and if u need a picture of me , can ask , no need to take it as if u are stealing like a thieve , he take le straight keep his hp , thinking that i dun know , WTH LA ????

Chill bro~~ We phantom riders can get really paranoid at times... Our petrol might get stolen anytime and its not everytime we can see the culprit doing it... im not saying you are the culprit but say, if u see someone suspicious at ur bike you will also be abit pissed off right? chill man... hope that his bike doesnt get sabo-ed and he put the blame on you....

 

My phantom park at my multi-storey for quite some time in the same spot and one day i realised someone spat on my seat... was quite pissed... then another day while i was going to get my S4, i saw the A**hole... spitting near my phantom again, so i walked back and stared at him... if he dare spit one more time, he will get hell from me... the first time, i take it as mis-kill.... alot of inconsiderate people around one la... so it is understandable we can be abit paranoid...

 

Hmm ok so i didnt read carefully enough... u know whats the model of the nice bike?? i think his actions is also understandable cos if anything happens to the TA200, he can help by providing pictures but in this case you are no robber or sabotager... so yeah... anyways, chill and maybe next time just walk over to the owner and make friends... like if i were you, i would say "this your bike? hmm.... its nice!........"

Were promised by a bike shop that if i take out a bike from them, it will be done nicely... (as all bike shops will say but not many can keep their words)

 

Therefore, i wanna let you guys know my incident and be more careful and meticulous in the future when dealing with people from bike shops, buying or selling.

 

Its been 5 months since i bought the bike anyways. So here goes:

 

Went to bike shop and wanted to get a bike, paid deposit on the day itself due to i find it very attractive (Wrong move totally!!). I have not got my license and asked for the bike to be left in the shop and also told them to run the insurance starting from somewhere around the 20th Jul 08 (my TP date). I failed that day and was informed by the salesperson that my insurance had already started about a month ago.... I have put myself as non - rider and a close friend as my sub. WTF! Waste my insurance money!! Okay nvm, since my bike already got insurance, put there also LPPL (Everyday rain shine on new paintwork plus people go try try). Might as well let my friend use it once or twice per week so as to keep the bike in shape (Friend already has his own bike from same shop but it keeps going back for repairs and the mechanics just cannot make it, they keep repairing the same damm thing and cant get it fixed).

 

Got my license 2 months later on Sept 08. Straight away take my bike to Planet and let Mark and Chong test ride and check. Diagnosis : Brake disc maybe warp liao. I wanted to change and asked chong how much, About $250 - $300 per piece and my bike has 2 piece. Too ex for me, i decided to go back bike shop and tell them. Then Mark discovered that the disc are actually in the same direction!! It should be a "left" and a "right" disc. Now i have a "left" "left" disc. Of course will have a warp feeling as one side of the brake cannot "eat".

 

Ok, went back to the shop on Saturday, was told to come on Monday as Saturday very packed and busy. Ok fine, as long as you change for me. Went back on Monday, was told to come on Thursday cos no stock. Okay. Went back on Thursday, "the person in charged is not around!! Whatever he promise you, you must get from him..." Ok i was quite pissed off already and asked him back, "like that is you want me to come back again on Saturday or Monday izzit? You think i very free come back again and again. The person tell me come on Sat, Mon and then Thurs he went MIA is me F-up or he F-up?" And so he replied after consulting someone, ok... i change for you today but you must wait ... i said ok and pulled a chair to sit down and smoke. Was gonna change my rear disc too as it is severely worn out... they tell me wear and tear, i ask them, ride 10 times can wear and tear until like that arh? So he did not try and argue and tell me he will change one for me (everything was second hand) After he changed, he also made me sign a piece of paper saying that even if it is not ideal, i cannot demand that they change for me again... -_- -> this however, i believe can be ruled as unfair contract terms one way or another as goods sold MUST be in working order. This issue is concerning brakes for god's sake!!

 

Nevermind, sign first then say, went to Planet right away and tested, chong said it was good and i felt relieved. Decided to change brakes, eo and spark plugs at Planet that day. EO come out all kopi o. Bear in mind my friend usually use my bike once a week and in a time frame of about 2 months would be at most 10 times. Kopi o EO... ok... Sparkplugs take out all got carbon until jialat. Ok ... best part is brake pads take out liao got nothing left!! NOTHING~!! I use so long also cannot use until so swee... this one got absolutely no lines at all... how to stop? And they promised to change EO, Sparkplugs and Brakepads for me.... like that is do swee swee meh? Other than my instalments, i do not wish to have anymore contact with them.

 

So, i wanted to do some basic maintenance, like wash carb. Found out that jet screw stuck, front wheel bearing spoil, steering cone spoil, tyres uneven wear.....

 

All in all, this is what i changed and do to my bike...

 

Front and rear brake discs changed (warranty).

Throttle cable changed.

Grips changed.

Tyres changed.

Engine Oil changed.

Spark Plugs changed.

Brake pads front and back changed.

RXZ to Ver. S headlights.

Loosen a stuck jet screw.

Carb washed.

Front wheel bearing changed.

Steering cone changed.

Air filter recharged.

Signal lights changed.

Coolant flushed.

Coolant changed to Engine Ice.

Seats rewrapped + cushion.

Stickers on fuel cap and tank.

Alarm installed.

Wow! That was quite a fair bit of change for a bike newly taken out from a shop!

yah lor~~!! Thats y when i think back... i am quite pissed... although some changes is for cosmetics purpose... but because i have a rack and box, the small signal lights are sometimes blocked from other's view... i have to change to original (ah boy) ones.... -_-

Must change items

1. EO

2. Oil Filter

3. Coolant

4. Rubber lining for carb

 

Optional items

5. Clutch (Still can use for a while but what the heck)

6. Fuel C0CK (No need to change if top up fuel regularly, but I am not that kind of guy!)

7. Stebel horn (Old horn can use, but when rain sometimes got sound, sometimes no sound)

 

But still satisfied, because bargained off $100 from the owner before hand.

So it off setted the cost of the repairs I had to make.

I guess thats the cons abt getting a 2nd hand bike, & more on an impulse.

& sometimes looks really is deceiving.

 

Im not totally disagreeing getting 2nd hand items, but then, I think all words said are nothing until both parties personally oversee it before handling/taking over. Best is, write in back on white, then signed,named & chopped.

 

lawbah, lesson learned, trust your own prefered mech for best diagnose, do what you deem is suitable to make yr ride a safe one.

 

silent hunter: if you can, better re-wire the bike, cos old bike's wiring & connectors may had seen better days. Also, changed the rectifier when doing the re-wiring too.

slowly one by one & change, do those important items 1st, like fresh EO, oil filter & plugs, clutch cable & plates, new fuel c0ck & so on.

as for the horn, check wiring, then relay, otherwise, the horn has drank too much water le, time to change...

Its a worthy bike which has a good price tag on it, making 2nd hand worth to purchase and comparing it to other honda bikes. The price difference can be used to do touch-up and repairs to ride-able standard and might even outdo them
