most common way to mod your pick up is.... changing sprockets.

1, drop front sprocket by 1 teeth.

OR

2. increase rear sprocket by 3 teeth...

either way works... works together too.. but do know that...

acceleration and top speed cannot co-exist....

top speed is your wife....

acceleration is like your mistress...

wife and mistress cannot exist at the same place at the same time... alright?

FC increase...

anyway, increasing the size in the sprocket will cause a drop in top end, and more vibrations when u hit 80km/h and above. in fact its quite serious issue to me. dun enjoy my ride anymore. wanna overtake, the engine screams like hell.

and the constant dragging in low gears for fast pick up makes my chain loosen v fast too.

c'est la vie~

there are 3 million ways to make your bike 'powerful'

a few listed below...

1, change your engine block and stuff2

2, change racing cdi

3, change front sprocket

4, change rear sprocket

5, change light weight plastics

6, rider lose weight

7, change thin tyres

8, spokey rims

9, change carb

10, fast throttle

personally i feel method 6 and 7 works best... but still...

if you know nothing about modification, you shouldnt even be modifiying the bike...

i know you're trying to ask about modifications here.. but those who really know has already replied...

you keep coming back with hear-say from friends... as mentioned above, talking is free... bike modding is like playing mahjong....

if you wanna be good at mahjong, you gotta play it and pay 'school fees'....

same theory for mods... pay the money... get the mod... feel the diff... then advice the next generation of riders who post online like you to get advice on bike modding...

cheers!

sprocket 13-36 would do the trick..but vibration at 90lm/hr is like osim chair..

if u wanna mod carb, i wuld advise u to spent more and do in sillypore instead of jb.. cos i would be a hassle if ur bike breaks down (due to the carb) here and not much shop would help.. and the wrkmanship in jb might not be up to mark..unless u noe the boss very well.. if nt it will be an endless well from the 1st day u start modding at the shop..

so wad mods is more advisable? care to tell me?

for me.. according to my mech whom i trust with both my bikes..

2.00 piston with block bored to the same size

racing cam

3rd and 4th racing gear

operated pipe

engine oil needs to be changed every 2 weeks (15RM castrol)

front end lowered (cutting off and welding back part of the bike's front frame).

overhauled the almost the whole bike (conrod, bearings, auto gear, piston)

total cost me around 1300+RM for the overhaul and mods alone..

using 80/80 (front) and 80/90 (rear) with 8 spoke racing boy rim and rider weight of around 50kg (yes i'm very light).

120km/h no problem.. 130km/h sometimes.. 135km/h downhill..

block/block head not ported and carb stock but with tuning done. told my mech not to touch those cause i don't want my FC to increase. lol.

170km before running totally dry (cause i pushed the damn bike to the petrol kiosk -.-). managed to pump 3.7L (my tank seems very small eh)

like idoticlown mentioned, hear from people who have done it, not from those who just said they heard from here and there.

you want to clear meter just add in a bigger carb and do porting for your block. oh ya, and use a race pipe. definately can clear. (: but prepare $700 in your wallet for the pipe fine.

believe it or not. up to you.

get a better bike is wad all i can say.

investing so much to make the bike able to go 120km/h when there are other bikes capable of doing better, is, TO ME, a waste of money. and of course, think long term, all these mods, some will cause trouble to the bike in the long run. and end up paying more money unneccessary.

the best question before investing in any bikes is to know what you want... speed, fc, comfort, top end, pick up, maintenance, cost of bike...

finally, there is no best of both worlds.

my worthless two cents. and hell yes, i dun give a damn to any flamers.

c'est la vie~

wayne i agree with u , well moding a cubs doesnt make any difference at all, must as well invest the $$$ u spend on mod to some other better bike. Which can give u better quaility and speed. Well so wat if u got the fastest cubs in sg, u dun gain anything but spend more $$$, think abt it before u mod cause i always belive a biker will always be a biker, speed is never enough for them.

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

i did my wave is for the fun of it. not to race with other kups or anything.. just to make it more fun to ride.. anyway that's all i'm going to do with my wave.. the rest will be cosmestic and accessories..

ghostrider: too bad you don't believe me then. bigger piston means increase in CC as well. and changing the 3rd and 4th gear helps alot too. my friend says his manual spark can hit 160km/h. i don't know whether to believe or not either.

its basic human instinct... to meddle with their toys...

there are many project bikes around.. e.g. rxk, rxz..

however, when it comes to cubs.... haha... point taken i guess.
