I tried put air freshners inside helmets but still quite useless. Best if helmet got removable liners, take them out and wash regularly.

1) Use Lysol (or other brand) disinfectant spray regularly on the liner. Kills mold and fungus which is what creates the odour.

2) Place helmet in the sun, liner up for a couple of hours on a regular basis... helps kill mold and fungus.

3) Was the liner regularly.

4) Wear a doo-rag or other head cover to absorb sweat.

i usually use a hair drier to heat up the cushion lining for 2 minutes. That usually kill any moulds & bacterias & stops the smell. I also dun keep my helmet in the rear box overnight.

Dun use lor . :sian:

Anyway , best way is to remove the lining n wash it regularly . Dun leave the whole helmet out in the hot sun or it will degrade the quality of the helmet .

Read it in a bike magazine - wrap up helmet and put in freezer overnight to kill bacteria.

Heard it works like a charm - problem is finding a freezer large enough to fit a helmet in!

Near the laundry and household cleaning products of any grocery store... like FairPrice. No need to wash... mostly alcohol based... evaporates away in about 1/2 hour.

my opinion is that gals really know how to take care of things so they dun smell, no wonder gals still smell so good no matter daytime or nighttime:cheeky: :cheeky:

it's gal's nature to be sooo nice-smelling all the time, hence that habit is applied on to helmets tooo:thumb:

How do I remove the helmet liner? It's just the cushion in the helmet right? I tried pulling them out but they are kinda tight, afraid that they're actually non-removable, I stopped.

Anyways to see if it is removable? Thanks!

i guess girls hair are normally longer so it can retain the shampoo smell for a very long time..

anyway what i do to keep my helmet free from odour is:

1) wash the linings then sun it till it dries.

2) i perspire quite alot, so i will wear a cap inside the helmet.

3) never leave it in the box overnight or too long.

never tried lysol as other people have suggested.. might try it 1 day when my pocket allows me to.

I place my helmet overturned to allow the cushion and lining to be aired..everytime when i'm home and nt using the helmet.

However i also use air freshener inside my helmet...
