If anyone interested in Altis, you can go to http://forum.toyotaclubsg.com for more info.

Here is my review:

Engine: VVTi, quite powerful for me, stock car reach 90km/h at 2.2k rpm, 100km/h at 2.4k rpm. The top speed is stated as 180km/hr

Maintenance: under 3 yr warrenty like most of car. change EO every 10k. Easy to maintain

FC: 12.5KM/L for a 1600kg auto car

Space: spacious than vios & honda city. Similar to Honda Civic for space.

Most import is pricetag is 61k.

anyway, relative to the other cheap cars out there if you are making comparisons on those grounds, I'll probably go get a Hyundai Santa Fe.

2 colleauge of mine bought Hyundai Santa Fe end last yr. i fello has constant prob with the car, though it is still under warranty but going in & out the work shop wasted lots of his time. btw the FC also damn siong

agree with u that corolla is kinda boring to drive but given its relatively high comfort level, price tag and overall low maintaince cost is a big draw to budget buyers like me :thumb:

Hahahaa....not "Kay Chua" lah..I think is "Kay zhua" if this is what you mean lah.

Just telling everybody a fact what....if you dun like it ...not my problem lah bro

Getting this Hyundai Santa Fe is really your choice???

:D Then all the best to you

Dun say i didn't warned you. FYI, I myself drove a Korean car before and going to workshop a few times within a month with broken clutch cable and ECU problem and yet can't rectify my problem.....you will understand how i feel with all the waste of time.

Bear in mind that IF you wanna get a cheap car and yet paying all those high Rd tax cum low FC (currently on high side) as well as super duper rock bottom 2nd value if you wanna sell it off by all means. Many ppl got this kind of mind set that buying a cheap car can save a lot compare to buying a Japan car...in the end, you will know which is cheaper lah. you better follow your retired dad to own a retired car lah...can save more and you can be a Retired Son :D

15km-16km/L is too high for me, never achieve it. I can reach 600km b4 the light come out, But I ususally pump more than 40L. Maybe yours is G9, not Altis, because Altis is 1600kg, much heary than previous version. I also use Esso8000. Because my bike use it for long time already.

Hmm... I'm driving Altis.. i wanted to buy Mazda RX-8 cos i'm a vain person. But keep postponing till now cos hubby just couldn't let go our ALtis.. Why? Simple.. Cos it's a good car.. it's rated Best Family Car of the yr! Good value and performance! If not you wont see so many Altis on the road right.. Singaporeans are smart! Those who drive a Altis should know how good our car is, so long we're comfy with it who bothers whether it's a Taxi or not..:cheeky:

i haf no comment on toyoto altis FC or engine which is made in japs:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

but nowadays due to manufacture cost, they move to thai n assembly most parts there, n i heard the car's body made in thai, erm.. corrosion resistant very poor, metal quality used poorgrade. tats a letdown. ..

if only everything jus perfect... , i no need buy another car after 10 yrs :D:D:D

ford would have a lower resales value

talking abt this, i find nowadays resale value of a econ/mid size car shouldn't be taken into consideration when one's buying a car, reason is super low COE/Parf, irregardless of what makes/model u drive on a 10 years loan finance on minium D/payment, like it or not, u will be stuck to the car for the next 7 years, or risk forking out Tens of thousands if u wish to sell before 7 years.

Personally Altis is the most value for $$$ to me as compared to other makes, ABS/EBD/Immobiliser/After sales service from Boneo Motors, etc etc, Gd as a family car. Even my poorly serviced Vios doesn't even gives me any mechanical problem for the past 2 year plus. For a family/individuals that could only afford 1 car, spending ur $$$ on a Toyota, is a :thumb: choice.

Used to own smaller 1liter car, noticed space and efficiency was an issue. I hate the feeling of driving it with a full load 5 adults passing a hump. Confirm hit the underbody.

it al depends on how much u load & the paper value at the point of sales. that is y i always discourage ppl from taking high loan or taking longer then u can afford to repay :goodluck:

hi, my dad is going to get a new Altis. he is going to scrap his 3 yrs old sunny and may be can take back 36k...

he is going to pay full cash for the new Altis, so i would like to check with you where is the best place to get new Altis? he went to borneo motor test drive already, the sales person told him if he take a 1 year loan of 20k, he will get a cash back of 1500, and then interest of 20k is about 500 a year. seems pretty worth it.

the Altis will be come in standard package, any other freebies we can get from them? like 10 cd changer, leather seat, tinted windows & body kits...

any other place offer better deal than borneo?

my brother in-law got his toyata wish with free 10cd changer, tinted windows and leather seat....

borneo motor is the distributor, so i guess not much freebie from them, just like you buy honda from boon siew, not free gift at all!

It really depends who you know that matters....

If you're really keen on the Toyota (Or rather most of the brands), PM me. I will try to help connect you to someone that can help. Those who are "asking for fun or curiousity", please look elsewhere. I am only sincere to help genuine car buyers.
