Some bikes require special parts available free from ScottOiler, check the website if your bike is compatible with their universal kit.

Mine had some problems with the oiler early on, it will only work at settings 6 thru 10, and not at all with lower settings. I had the mech take a look at it, and now it's running fine and dandy.

Any idea whether it can be fitted on a phantom TA200? Is it visible from the outside? scare ppl see it and take.

I had it on my ex TA200. The first installation did not work too well as the exhaust bleed from the TA200 engine was too weak to push the oil through the long tubes to reach the chain.

My mechanic had to re-do the installation (which involves the process similar to changing the inner sprocket) to shorten the tubes so that the oil will flow smoothly.

After that, I threw away my brush liao. Works like a charm.

However, your Scott Oiler is very visible. (Not many places on TA200 to hide the Oil reservoir.)

My solution is to leave the device alone. After some time, it becomes so dirty that it is "camouflaged".

Its a good one-time investment. Now re-installed on my S4 Version S. Just buy 2T EO as refilling oil can liao.

BTW, I have yet to finish my original Scott Oiler oil after 2 years.

Some other shops with the relevant experience might know how to do it. Mine had a similar problem as yours; I went to Gerry Looi at Tampines Ind Park to get it rectified.

Mine no shiny effect. If shiny, then you are at risk of having the oil drip onto your tyres?

Shiny in the sense of clean. It does clean the chain as well, right?

Of course. I have the usual spot of rust at various parts of the chain, but it's just surface rust, and they're few and far between. My monthly cleanup will see me manually oiling the rusty parts, if any.

I installed my Scottoiler system last month. So far so good. No need to stunt the bike to move the back wheel. Heavy 2B bike.

The chain also always wet enuff and no 'dry-chain' sound when i ride. I used to hear this sound every time i ride.

Highly recommend if you don't have discipline (like me) to lube often enuff.

:)

I accidently set the pump to 'Prime' mode and, voila, oily splatter all over the rear side, man :cheeky:... and, yeah, the pump went dry. That is the result of using something before reading the manual.

I noticed that you guys were recommending either HKL or MV to do the installation. I am kinda picky on the mech that works on my bike.

If I ask my own mech to get for me and install on my bike, do you think he will be knowledgable to install the scotoiler properly or would it be better recommended that I go back to MV or HKL to have it installed?

Rebuilding my dreams. But first, the gears

1) WP RS Taichi riding jacket

2) WP riding pants

3) Titanium riding gloves

4) Garmine Nuvi 550 GPS (US$259)

5) WP Komine riding boots

6) Arai Helmet

7) The BIKE of course! :cheeky:

i assume your mech know you close enough to tell you the truth. ask him if he knows how to install the oiler. if he says he is not confident, then better go MW or HKL.
