just wondering wad can be modded on meters..

is changing of meter background possible?

i was thinking of installing tachometer on my x-1 R but im not sure wether the reading will be accurate or they juz tap it from the coil juz to make it move when u throttle...lol

well, i have seen a WAV wit digital meter.. looks damn cool ar!!

 

i asked tat guy how much it was, he said it was 200 plus at ubi ter then he walked off..

i bought tis cheap cheap digital tacho to tune my cdi, just for tuning oni, dun attach to bike

so now my question is. is it possible to fix a tachometer to ur cub that really gives an accurate reading. if for cars, the sensor fix at the flywheel...so for bike.. where would the sensor be fixed?

got many ways lar,

But usually here they tap the front light wire signal, for cubs tat the front lamp takes power directly from the coil.

 

if like the digital cdi, just clip a wire around the ignition cable. Detects electromagnetic pulse.

i doubt if they tap from the coil, it would be accurate. tts my current issue.

i did a useless mod.. tinted the transparent cover.. end up super dark.. like cant see anithing.. wan make the light brighter liao haha

to mod the original meter background is not impossible. 1 method will be to dismantle the whole meter casing & remove the background and bring to a customised sticker shop. choose the colors/designs u wan for the background. however, there are 2 disadvantages to this mod.

 

1. u will need to remove the needle from the meter in order to take out the background. it takes quite a few tries before u are able to calibrate the needle to give u back the original reading.

 

2. stickers dont really permit lots of light to shine thru. u might end up with a dark looking meter.

could it be the newer 2006 model of x1?

understand that the this newer model comes with tribal design decals etc. if not, the general engine design, etc all looks the same.

i did it at jb ah boy.. but change like nv change.. still not bright at all.. my fren's x1 meter super bright.. duno wad his previous owner did..

one mod could be adding sigma digital bicycle speedo...the latest model has backlight......

has features like mileage, trip, clock, speed, top speed. needs to be removed unless u have enclosure.

 

tacho getting from coil is very common....some data loggers detect tacho from coil too...

tried to transfer my bicycle cateye speedo over to my spark135 b4 but faced some prob...

 

1st is a proper place to mould the handle bar kind bracket which my bike handle bar is unseen..

2nd is the sensor cable is juz not long enought..

3rd is the sensor magnet is for spocky rim bicycle which mine is sport rim den to secure wif cable tie might lost the position in long run..

 

so after tat give up the idea... -_-
