Hi ppl,

I have been riding SP for 5 years, but now facing a continous problem. Early this year I changed battery, then 2 months later the recitifer. However after few weeks the lights seems to be in a very poor condition as I need to blow the trottle then the lights become stronger. When starting up, the neutral light also near cannot see.

Fustrated with this I went to the mechanic and ask him whats wrong, the answer given to me was Magnetic coil spoil, ok I lan lan pay $185 to change magnetic coil. When my old magnetic coil was taken out, it looked as new as it can, but still I changed it.

Now 2 weeks later, my problem still exist! Sometimes while riding half way or stopping at traffic lights, my bike just die off! Wah lan can anyone tell me whats the real problem??? Very sian to have my needs of transport to treat me this way as I am constantly endangering myself on the road.

The only way not to fall asleep is to ride faster and faster.

Good Idea, but will anybody think its extra to install a voltmeter in a SP..? I always think so when sitting in my frens car with voltmeter installed.

can onli tell yr batt health and whether the batt is charging or not..

but cannot tell which component is spoilt..

coil or the rectifier..

Most electrical/electronic stuff has a eco life of 4-5 years. You said you've been using your bike for almost 5years I reckon you're already in the red-line of experiencing electrical gremlins. Better re-wire your bike asap than, to be sorry later on.

yeah i thought so too.. rewiring.. some of the wire maybe worn out liao causing it to "short circuit" thus spoiling your coil, battery.. eg..

Most probably rectifier, dude. Perhaps i think u change a faulty one instead of a good one.

That is my thought too. A nbr of mechanics usually don't check with voltmeter. They just base on symtoms u describe. 1st thing they will do is change ur rectifier. I had the same problem; was given the runaround by one shop; clean tank; clean carberrator; change spark plug......in the end, told me could be my rectifier. Gave up on them and went to several shops....most suggest rectifier. Bought the rectifier change it myself. Now, no problem.

Suggest u go back to the mech and see what he says; afterall, he made u spent so much money with no solution.
