Spark 135 FAQ

Most of the info SHOULD be correct....

Q: How many types of Spark135 are there?

A: Two.

1. Spark 135RX - Clutchles

2. Spark 135RR - Clutch

Q: Is the Spark135 Kick start or electric start?

A: Clutch version is Kick Start.

Clutchless version is E-start.

Q: What is the gear like for Spark135?

A: 4 Gears + 1 Neutral. Kick downwards to from Gear 1 to 4. Kick back pedal to go from Gear 4-1.

Alternatively, you can stop your bike in gear 4... and kick down.. it'll go to Neutral.

Q: What is the OTR Price for a brand new Spark 135?

A: Typically its around $4.8-5.2k range... depends on market.

Q: Where can i find the cheapest Spark135?

A:

Q: What is the fuel consumption like for Spark135?

A: 1 litre of petrol takes you around for between 40 - 50km. Depends on riding style and rider weight.

Q: What is the difference between Parrallel Imported (PI) bikes and Agent bikes?

A: PI bikes are brought in from thai by bike shops. Agent bikes are from Hong Leong, the yamaha dealer.

1. PI bikes warranty is 3 months, given by bike shop.

2. Agent bikes warranty is 1 year, given by Hong Leong.

Q: What are the different types of tyres Spark135 can use?

A: It depends on whether you're using Sports rim or Spoked rims.

Typically, there are 2 brands reccomended for use by Sports rim.

1. Dunlop TT900 (Thai made OR Japan Made)

2. Brigdestone Battlax

Q: What is the difference between sports rim and spoked rim?

A: Spoked rims must use Inner tube with the tyres whereas sports rim can use tubeless tyres.

Q: What is the difference between tubed and tubeless tyres?

A: Tube tyres depend on a inner tube to keep inflated. If a nail strikes your tyre, the tube will just let all the air out.

For tubeless tyres, if you hit a nail, the air will slowly leak out.. giving you some reaction time to rectify.

Q: What is the max size of tyres that can be used?

A: It depends on individual, but typically most riders use this config.

1. FRONT: 80/80

2. BACK: 90/80

Q: What does 80/80 or 90/80 means?

A: please see link http://totalmotorcycle.com/photos/tire-tyr...re-TyreTech.htm

Q: Which Engine Oil should i change?

A: Semi Synthetic Oils should suffice. PLease see link for list of EO and estimated prices.

Q: How should i do the running in of a new bike?

A: Only the normal break in will be covered.

1. Ride the bike till 500KM with speeds ranging from 60-70km/h on Mineral Oil

2. Change to Semi Synthetic EO.

3. Ride the bike till 1000km with speeds not exceeding 80km/h.

4. Change to either Semi or Fully Synt EO.

5. Ride the bike until next oil change. (either you change again at 1500km or just leave it)

6. after that... every 2000 km or 1.5 months... whichever comes first.. oil change.

Q: After changing racing foot rest rear break not effective how to rectify it?

A: Yes, after changing to racing footrest, the rear drum brake will feel nothing. There is NO BEST solution to go about it. The best way reckoned is to do a Rear Disc Brake conversion.

Disc Brake Conversion

a few considerations during conversion...

1. Make sure your racing foot rest can fix a brake pump.

2. Original Spark rims are drum brakes, so the back wheel has to be changed.

Using Brake Cable

Instead of using the rod thats given in the racing foot rest, use a retrofitted Metal Cable to substitute... its said to be a lil more effective.

Q: What is the cost of a full disc brake conversion as compare to Brake cable conversion?

A: Disc Brake Conversion : 400 - 550 RM.

Racing Foot Rest Cable: 15 - 25 RM.
