Hi, so can you please enlighten me on this.

My weight 80kg + full tank Petrol 10kg = 90kg , sluggish performance

My weight 80kg + 4l petrol 2kg = 82kg, smooth performance

So does that mean to say, IF

My weight 72kg + full tank petrol 10kg = 82kg , smooth performance also?

Or does it not work that way? cause if it does, then i really have some weight to lose to enjoy the benefits of a full tank and a 4l tank.

Frankly speaking there is a difference with a tank ful of petrol and a half filled tank. Losing some "personal weight" might be a good idea too. definitely improve your FC per litre.

Try experiment with constants like same type of petrol, must sure your bike has just been service with fresh EO, air filter cleaned, sparks plugs are in good condition, etc.

If you are comparing when your servicing is around the corner, then there might be more variables than constants to conclude that there is a noticeable difference.

hi, i recommend u to go UM to change ur EO, there are packages too. is cheaper than other motordiam. For ur cold start problem, u can tune ur carbureter clockwise to increase ur idle rpm alittle but will increase ur fc alittle too. u got change ur stock tyre?

Hi LXY,

Any idea where is UM?

Do you mean the screw at the carburetor?

No, still on stock tyres, they are fine on dry, but slight slippery on wet.

Kenneth

Of course, it would be a good idea to change stock tyres as soon as you finish your running in at least there is some use for them. When you "self Skid" you will be charged with failure to control your vehicle.

Tires are not the only thing that ensures stability. Good suspension plays a large part to it.

The bad news:

  1. our original rear shocks and front forks are child's play.
  2. There are no aftermarket parts available for our bikes.
  3. to bring in any parts we need a certain quantity.

The goods news

  1. I have found a suspension specialist to upgrade the springs in our fork to a more firmer one. This is to reduce the "dipping effect" when you brake.
  2. Also working out a deal to bring in an aftermarket rear shocks for us

So I would like to appeal to our 21 strong CBF150 forumers to join in to place this order to once and for all bring "pride to our ride"

For the front fork, let start with the springs, I am planning to custom built them. Estimated cost abt $150 for the springs, price gets lower with more orders.

For the rear shocks, I am estimating about $300 to $400 but that will be secondary as it is higher cost.

Just look at bikes like Yamaha X1, spark 135 and Honda wave 125, there are so many varieties available because there is demand. So why not we create a demand?

So what do you guys say?

hi,

can i change fork oil to reduce "dipping effect" when braking in state of changing the springs? pls correct me if i'm wrong. springs will get softer in long term.

if "dipping effect" is reduced, what will be the result when riding over hump or uneven road? stiffer handling?

sorry juz sharing my thoughts!!! hope i can learn somethings from u

Front fork has 2 major components, oil and the spring. I have experimented with various grades of fork oil and oil levels arrived at a decision and also with expertise advice decided that the spring was the only other thing that we could change to reduce the dipping effect.

We cannot totally eradicate the dipping effect but we can reduce with a change to a stiffer spring and getting the correct oil grade. What we hope to achieve is a stable bike as we brake and enter a corner. If not you will find yourself trying to counter react to the sudden dipping and also taking the corner or going over a bumpy road.

As for the springs getting softer over time is unlikely as these are fork springs that go through some form of treatment process like heat treatment to reduce and withstand the rigours of riding. Even if they do, it would be so long away like a couple of years.

Hello joe.....since i read it first....hehehe...my advice to u....

1- buy 1st hand

2- once get ur bike....immediately change ur EO

Recommended Bel-Ray GOLD....my personal choice.

3- run in ur bike at 70-80km/h for at least 800-1000km

4- if u got extra cash....change both ur stock tyres

Recommended BRIDGESTONE BT-45 or PIRELLI CITY DEMON.

5- add Nano-Balls or BroQuet to minimise ur FC -Optional

6- Ride Safe!!!

Hi guys due to work commitments overseas, I've sold my 4 months old CBF150 for S$3,000 to a 'friend'.

Buyer gets the following:

Done 5,000 km. Color red. Condition 9.5/10.

Come with:

Warranty

Fully stamped service records

IU

Givi box 45L

Bike cover

Helmet (super cheap one)

Rain coat

Maxima Extra 4 15w50 1 liter engine oil

3M P-plates (car type)

Buyer top up S$100 for a pair of XPD X-zero boots (cond 9.9/10). I wore 3 times.

I hope the above little info helps future CBF150 members some buying estimation.
