cant really blame HL.. it's not within their control to get the bikes by the time they give.. the bikes are in from japan where they are manufactured and assembled. it could be due to many many factors whereby shipment could be delayed..

like shipment missed the ship. not everyday got ships to singapore..

like order too big, haven't manufacture finish, etc etc..

HL is actually the middleman for yamaha in singapore. they just follow instructions from yamaha japan. they take info from japan and fwd out to you guys.. if no news from japan side, they also cannot give you any news mahz..

but i'm sure of 1 thing..

the wait will be worthwhile...

I may be wrong. According what I've previously know, the Japanese bike manufacturers would not directly export their bikes out to small market like Singapore. In order for the bikes sale to be competitive, they would allow the Europe and America to monopolize the sales as this would secure their sales status as is also not easy to penetrate into “Ang Mo” territories back in those days.

With trade agreement like this, the Japanese bike manufacturers can rest assure of what they produced would be marketed efficiently and profit would be guaranteed for both parties. That’s where all this Europe Model & California Model comes in; partly due to the stringed emission laws and marketing strategies.

In order for a Japanese consumer (Japan local bikers) to posses such bikes (Exported bike models). Their own Japanese local bike shops may need to import back what the manufactures exported out as the demand is not so great as compared to the rest of the demands out there in the Europe and America etc... The domestic bike models they have in Japan are mainly “cubs” or “automatic scooters”.

Therefore, I’m quite sure that HL doesn’t obtain their bikes from Japan. Pardon me for my ignorance if I’m wrong. I’m just sharing what I know on the rationale behind the Europe and California Models.

Cheers…..All the wait is worth while.....Yamaha....Touching your heart....:thumb:

UK and US are given the priority. Then the rest of the world gets it. We ought to be happy that we're getting the Europe Models. As the California Models usually have stricter emmission laws and thus the bikes are usually "power cut", or the bikes comes without "YISS"...etc...

Well, so far after ridden before '01 R6, '04 K4 G6 and '05 CBR6. I went back to Yamaha on '06 R6. Yamaha still the best bike in terms of 600cc. The bike has this pulling force during acceleration as compared to the rest of 600s I've ridden.

You all won't regret getting the '08..... But durability....I'm not so sure of...:p

no doubt i agree with you that the EU and US markets will get the bikes first due to the bigger markets that they posses.

but 1 thing that i know, is that yamaha not only have 1 factory. they have a couple of factories around the world. 1 in the US, 1 in the EU, and 1 main factory in Japan. Singapore falls under the Japan coverage. and yes, Singapore follows the EU colour scheme, for it doesn't have such strict emission laws like the US.

it does not make economical sense for 1 factory to manufacture for the whole world. it would be crazy, and orders will be backdated till god-knows- when. EU-based factory will manufacture for the EU market, US-based factory will manufacture for US market, and Japan main factory will manufacture for the Asia market, following the same technical datas for the EU markets.

if you think back, it also doesn't make sense to ship the bike out of japan to EU, then ship it back for its own domestic markets. the shipping alone cost a bomb!

and with regards to the auto-scooter and cubs in japan, this is what i heard from my friend who went to japan to see see look look. he told me that japanese dispatch riderr are riding naked bikes like fazer, z1000, hornets, gsr/bandits for dispatch. reason being it's manufactured in their country, thus the lower cost for ownership.. this 1 dunno is how true la, but that's what i heard from him..

1st batch that actually touched the roads is end jan. My was 02-02-2006. I asked for ultimatum from shop. I want it registered & collected on that day. Cannot achieve, no buy. To "help" them achieve it, I even waited at Sin Ming LTA to sign forms at 915am!!

Thank You.

This apek fix tank bra on my 07 damn chia lat uh! Dont know how he screw those 2 screw below the seat. Now i only can remove one of the screw, the another screw is stuck there, no matter how long i screw it, i cant remove the screw. This apek damn screw up! Now i think i must remove the undertray in order to get the stucked screw removed. That will be very troublesome. Anyone can help me in this situation or reccomend me a shop where they are good in this kind of thingy. I need a saviour. Thank you very nice my fellow mentors.

Sounds like cross-thread. If it really is, you can try this :-

1. Spray GT85, let it seep through, wait for 2~3 minutes.

2. Use the long lever allen key (it abt twice the length compared to the ones in your tool kit). OR use socket allens, this give proper leverage & perpendicular force application W/O stripping your top hex thread. easily

3. Remove slowly.

Worked for most of my applications & eliminates use of drill+counter thread removal method. Hope it helps

Thank You.
