 Very easy, you can DIY yourself. Just remove the 4 screw of the airbox and you can take out the filter. Use a penknife and cut away the paper filter.

Buy the filter from aquarium shop and just cut to size and stuff it on the place where you remove the paper filter. Cover back the airbox and tighten the 4 screws .Complete. Easy.

:cheeky: I modify the orignal filter by removing all the "air cannot pass through filter" papers and stuff in filters bought from aquarium shop that use for filtering water.

The results: less fuel consumption more power. And the filter is washable save money.

how many layers of the aquarium filter thing did u put?

i got some queries abt ur 'aquarium' filter...

1) wat is ur FC b4 and after u changed to ur DIY filter?

2) do u find ur carb get dirty faster?

3) does ur engine gives u trouble when u ride in heavy rain? eg. stall often, difficult to start.

i thinking of copying ur idea on my wave's air filter...hehe

Topic : purpose of air filter?

Description : Nil

********************************************************************

sorry if sound lyk stoopid question...what is the purpose of air filter for wave?will there be any bad consequences if i remove it from my bike?how to take care of it?

Posted

air filter is to filter out as much unwanted dust, dirt particles frm the air before the air is transfered into the bike for combustion with petrol. removing the filter will allow air to flow more freely.

to me, removal of air filter is really not too recommended. but i guess it is still up to individual preference. it would be good if u can wash the carburettor more often if u really do remove the air filter. remember to re-tune yr carburettor after u have taken out the air filter also.

How come my bike got no black box air filter one? Cannot find leh. If wanna install the mushroom filter must take out the black box filter is it? The mushroom filter is power filter is it? My bro go install on my bike leh the mushroom shape filter now my FC like very bad. If I remove the mushroom filter then the carb is like an open mouth facing the front wheel leh. Should there be a black box filter there one?

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

yes der shud b a black box...u ask ur bro whether he got keep the box. if u take out the filter n its open carb, u need to set d carb again...coz the setting for open n closed mouth is diff...if ur carb take air too much..ur bike will be very slow. its better to close it using filter or anything so that when raining, water cannot go in the carb..

i can only tell u the bout the 2 screws dat u can play with if u want to diy tuning..

k, go to the left of ut bike, got the triangle shaped panel right? in the middle got hole right? look into the whole.. u will see 2 screws.. on the left, is the pilot air screw.. on the right is the idle screw.. the pilot air screw is set at 1 5/8 turns factory setting..want to let more air in, turn anti clockwise, less air, clockwise..

actually watever i did ah, i dont recommend on others lah, cos my bike if spoil, my prob.. so if u want to try ah.. at own risk.. cos u can never really know wat is the perfect setting for ur bike.. air fuel mixture too rich, bike cant perform at optimum level, too lean (more air) they say harmful to engine.. well, its not as if ur bike can talk to u right.. maybe experienced riders will know.. i only jst take out p plate last jan.. still very the newbie..

who gets summoned for not signalling? i did..

dumb luck? maybe...
