hi bros, i'm riding krr150 now(swingarm).

recently, theres this very loud TUCK sound when i'm riding. this usually happens in gear 1,2 sometimes 3. higher gears theres no such problem.

as far as i know, the chain is loose, and the sprockets are rather sharp. pay hasn't come in yet, so might be waiting till december to change the sprockets chain. so i'm wondering, is there any problem or danger if i dun change it asap ?

its only my guess that this sound is coming from the chain and sprocket, could it be the gear box or something ? or any other possibilities ? enlighten me bros.

thanks alot!

If the chain snaps, it whips around at very high speed. I've seen cracked engine cases with huge holes caused by the chain. Can you imagine what it will do to your legs?

That chainguard is not there for no reason. And it doesn't offer full protection too.

Always keep the drive chain lubricated and properly adjusted.

Cutting a link off to make a stretched chain still usable is a dumb thing to do... something only recommended by ignorant mechanics.

Under hard acceleration and downshifting.. chain link plates will stretch, thereby lengthening the gap between the chain rollers.

A new chain will sit squarely on the sprocket with the chain rollers in the middle of the sprocket groove between the teeth. Once stretched, the rollers tend to sit on the rear side of the front sprocket tooth and on the front side of rear sprocket tooth, due to accelerating loads. Cutting a link off serves only to make the situation WORSE. By doing that, you accelerate the wear on the sprockets.

After sometime of running with a stretched chain, the sprocket teeth will be grounded to a sharp point which is hooked at the tip. Thats when the chain is able to slip and jump sprocket and get jammed simply because it is not sitting in the sprocket properly under loads.

Consequences of an improperly adjusted chain jumping the sprockets?.... instant locking of the rear wheel, instant jamming of the engine resulting in bent internal gears, con rods.

Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Save 10 cents lose one hundred dollars.

Replace the drive chain BEFORE ie 3/4 way reached its limit of adjustment as indicated on the bike's rear axle markings. Do this and chances are the sprockets can survive a few chain replacements.

When the chain is already loose (cannot tighten anymore) or your sprocket is already worn out, better change fast. I had an incident whereby the chain actually came off while I was riding along SLE, all because I kept procrastinating to change it. Luckily the chain did not get stuck in the gears or something like that. If it did, I doubt that I will still be typing in here cos I was travelling at about 110km/h when that happened... :giddy:

so meaning to say that no matter how fast u're moving, the bike won't come to a straight halt?
