I think 5 PSI too much already. For mine, i put additional 5 KPA in addition to the maximum recommended pressure in the manual to each tyre. But my wheels can support more than the pressures i put in them. :)

This is generally true - in the US they've done testing inflating tyres to more than 3 times the "maximum" pressure just to see if they'd pop like balloons.

They didn't.

Now, don't try to push the envelope with tube tyres though, they're not as damage resistant. I had a blowout with a tube-tyred cub once at ......

70kph. Incredible, ain't it?

Now that is scary. I was recommended by almost everyone who i asked for advice before getting my bike. They all asked me not to get tubed tyres. If come tubed, change to tubeless. If blowout, its super dangerous they all said.

I think sum ppl take dat "right hand control the fc" thing too seriously. Saw a rvf rider riding like this. Move off so slowly until kanna horn by cars. If wan to save fuel, juz ride a 125cc 4 stroke machine instead.

how many of you have tried fuel saving products that actually work and how do they work?

I once set on a S1000r and the curse begun, u never wanna ride anything else besides sports bikes ever again!

I think Atom power works but I have not yet tried it personally. Any user of Atom Power willing to share their experiences?

All of those additives have so called scientific advertising information (aka technobabble) that if you look closely, don't make sense at all.

There are no magnetic substances in petrol, there's no such thing as "changing the molecular structure of petrol to make it burn better" and everyone knows that if I shout loud enough to my friends' ears that if they put chili sauce in their fuel tanks so 5% fuel can be saved, they will actually start reporting that their FC and power has improved. Although as we all know, chili sauce is not meant to mix with petrol and it might clog up somewhere and screw your fuel line up.

This is called the placebo effect and snake oil marketing makes great use of it.

How to save fuel?

Regulate the right hand, use momentum for hill climbs, optimise carb settings and running temperatures, use lighter grade synthetic oils for less pumping drag within the engine, ride hunkered down like a cafe racer and wear spandex to reduce drag...

These actually work, don't require fancy explanations that no one understands, and don't cost anything.

ive been using atom power for a few months now, bought 2 bottles from my colleague who works in LFI to try out and support his sales... for me i dont see much difference but my friend claims a 20km difference in his FC.... when i told him ive only finished half a bottle (ard 100ml used), he said because my bike is old and it needs more atom power to "clean" the engine...

still using it now, bought it already might as well finish it....

best way to improve FC is to get your carburetor tuned... my SP was running at 140km full tank... spent some $$ to get the fuel and air jettings to the correct sizes and now im 140km at half tank...

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

hi , i m riding a CBR 1000RR 06 model. have been using the Atom Power for the past few months. Tried nearly two bottles, it just did not work, so guys please do not waste your time on them.

True as well. Good thing about 2B bikes is that they are simple enough to DIY tune. I use the 'economy' setting for night runs and a richer one for day (more cooling from intake charge).

Another thing to consider is rolling resistance from tyres. Overinflating them a bit can reduce rolling resistance = better FC. Choose smoother tyre treads for less drag.

Although, traction in the wet is anothe story. Metzelers' aggressive tread pattern can go 100+kph in the rain no issues but creates quite a far bit of drag.

agreed. tried the BROQUET Fuel Charger and it does nothing although it does work for some.

if u read all the testimonies from broquet, most riders in fact all just do an observation of only one tank ride after installed it but none return to make testimony again. doesn't make any sense why those riders never return n declare so again.

i did tried broquet n observed 5 tanks of ride n average out km/l....no saving at all.

try google search.......no scientific facts of it's working, world war 2 technology, invented by a russian scientists, material made of antimony alloys (fishing weights) if it make any senses at all, it's a snake oil gimmicks.

only thing tat may work is the zinc ingredient might prevent rusting in metal tank.

lead might help if dissolved in fuel like in the old days when fuel has lead as additive.

if any one wants to try out broquet, why not buy a few fishing weights n bundle in a steel wire net then drop it into ur tank. it's a lot cheaper.

i never believe in such things. just the overwhelming reviews got me to try once. now trying to figure out how to i get it out of the tank. haha...

Clear carbon once a while. For me, ride like Ah Pek for a while and the FC drops. Guess it might be due to carbon build up. Take passport, get it stamped, clear some carbon and it does the trick.

Check and replace wheel bearing, oil chain regularly. This also affect FC to a certain extend.

i guess the clear carbon theory is to ram the bike at high rpm while on load so the pressure built up and carbon is being force out? does it work if you run your bike hard at lower gear so you can achieve the same effect without the danger of speeding?

i might be wrong but sometime i think going to the north for "clearing carbon" is an excuss for speeding just like loud pipe save life:cheeky:

Leaded fuel will poison your cat converter and render it useless. The lead additive was used to retard preignition in older engines (causing them to run rough)by raising the octane level. Suppression of preignition is measured by octane rating. These days, availability of good high octane fuel have rendered leaded gas pointless. That, and cos leaded fuel exhaust is frickin' harmful to the environment and our lungs. Leaded gas also protected some older car engines from wearing down by covering soft engine parts (like the valves) with lead-containing material.

On the other hand, I usually surgically remove my cat converters anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me! :p :P

lead is a pollutant tat y it was removed from fuel as an additive in 80s.

it is a good additive for engine to prevent valve seat wear n better valve seal.

there more pollutant gases cause by those riders whom wants to save fuel by set their bikes to run lean......like CO n NOx.
