did not vote cos frankly speaking, i like v-power but i can say that it is value for money...

if just for normal riding, think 98 is good enough.. but v-power is when you want to pump that addition kick when you feel like having a good pickup... of course having to drag for a pickup is surely a waste of money.. but for the shiok of it only.. kekekeke...

I think hor, esso/mobil has more discount leh cause normally it is 6% discount + the smile card which give u another 4% discount so total u will get 10% discount which is more than what other petrol station is offering. And i heard for my uncle that esso/mobil petrol will not leave much dirty stuff (forget the spelling for it haha) after use but other brand will leave a lot of dirty stuff behind. Also the engine will suck the petrol of esso/mobil until very dry but nt the same case for other petrol.Eventhough the oil tank is empty and u cant start the bike,u will still see some petrol left in ur oil tank and it is nt the same case for esso/mobil petrol. Pls correct me if i am wrong, would love to have more of ur opinion !! :cheer:

Erm.... I think SPC cheapest.

7% is the base amount of discount (although dunno y they put 6% outside). Spending on the past month will then be looked at for discount on current month.

0-50 = 3%

50-300 = 5%

>300 = 6%

Most car drivers get 13% off. Quite easy to clock more than $300 on petrol for car. For me, every month 7% + 5% = 12% nia.

Eh... And I think petrol more or less the same. Pumped at esso/mobil before. Nothing special.

if u are talking about S'pore petrol....

i would go for Caltex...the most expensive one....

Quality is the best i've ever tried...even V-power also cannot win.

It's not only smooth, mileage also good.

Apparently, not many go for Caltex....try out one of these days.

$$ also not much diff from V-Power.

Use Esso/Mobil because of smile point and discount.

Have tried Esso/Mobile 95, engine almost die off during pickup at traffic light. Have to accelerate more during pickup, waste petrol.

Have switched back to Esso/Mobile 98, smooth during pickup at traffic light and so far no problem.

Used to pump Caltex 95 but switched to Mobil Syn2000 recently. Mileage about the same (22 km/litre) compare to 95 petrol...

Read in my fren bike manual states "use unleaded petrol with a research octane number of 91 or higher",so i guess 92 is fine then.Using caltex jb petrol now, mileage pretty good compared to mobil used prev.

Wah.. then all those who pump RON 98 and Vpower... Overkill liaoz? :p

Anyway.. I believe in treating my wifey well.. so I let her drink at least RON 97 - JB petrol (sometimes Vpower to clean engine) or 98 - SG petrol (very very seldom).

if u riding super 4, i think the minimum is ron95. mobil syn2000 is ron 92. will spoil ur engine in long run.

hmm... my fren say for new bikes can use vpower, older bikes downgrade to 98. den even older ones, say 4 years onwards, 95 best, cuz vpower too strong for the engine.

think is opp case for humans? baby drink milk, children drink coke, teens drink jolly shandy, young adults drink beer, adults drink whiskey, old people drink Dom! hahaha!!!:cheeky: :cheeky:

hmm.... I thot should be other way.... bike too old cannot tahan the knocking and must use higher octane number fuel. Newer bike can use lower octane number fuel so long as meet the min requirement in the manual.

regarding the octane level for fuel, caltex's fuel is having the level that is nearest to the stated amount on the pump.

Had a friend working in the QC check for octane level. He commented so. so now u know.....

can be a good thing can be a bad thing. if all petrol companies have their RON higher than the listed RON, then Caltex will be viewed as the lowest RON among the brands. If all r lower, then Caltex is the highest RON among all brands. :cheeky:

well, that could be true.

however, it doesn't necessary give us a full picture.

eg.

stated ron 98

caltex actual is ron 97.9

others are ron 97.8

hardly conclusive yah?

i don't believe any company can get it right 100% all the time. hence, there's a limit on acceptability and level of consistency before they can say theirs is ron xx. as long as theirs within the accepted margin of error, it should be alrite.
