Wave is economical, so the power is not very strong. Two-up still can reach 100km/hr effortlessly.

getting a pillion together with the rider on a Honda Wave 125, getting to 100km/h is possible, but not effortless. It still requires some time to reach 100km/h even if you open up the throttle. And i do agree that the Honda Wave is somehow, sort of like a indestructable bike... that is, in my opinion.

hi anybody did an overhaul or changed their clutch plates yet ? if yes, can kindly state your experience ?

how to know our wave is out of tune ?

i just changed the tyres to tt900 80/80 front n rear. now i regret altho bike is more stable. pick up is slightly slugggish n reaching 100 km/h is slow even for one person. now im looking at changing the sprocket to 428 chain conversion due to better gearing choices. has anybody done this before and if so, wat are the combinations used for relatively gd pickup.

Hi everyone...

Stoner here. Brought me a Wave-R 1 week back...

Great Bike! I'm quite a very heavy guy(FAT!)... My friends are saying that when I ride my wave. Is like : GU - KIA - BAY! (Cow ride horse!)....:giddy: Ha... Ha... Ha...

Just change my tyres to TT900, found a drop in mileage:

use to get 53km per liter, now... 45km per liter...

Still on spoky rims... Guess my mileage would drop again once I change my rims to "Sports".

BTW, any Wave-R owners here? Whats your full tank milage? Mine's about 135km - 140km (45km/lt) now...

To Me....

Question:

2. how to reset the trip meter?

Answer:

1. No... That's why is strongly advisable to change the engine oil every 2000 km.

2. You can't... It only comes with a over-all trip meter. You could get a “Bicycle digital Meter”, it comes with trip-meter and it also tell you the exact speed that you are travelling.

Cheers!

To Me....

Hi, thank you for help in answering my queries. Although I'm rather disappointed that the wave is too basic to have a oil filter and a trip meter, i'm overall quite satisfied with the bike overall.

I'm thinking of changing my spokes rims to those sports types, any advice here which one to change and how much? I'm also thinking of changing the tyres to tubeless one as well. So, I'll need advice on what make/model of tyres to change.

This will be my wish list for my new wave.

1. Sports Rims and tubeless tyres.

2. steel braided brake lines for the front brakes.

3. Rear and front suspension.

For me, that will be enough to make the wave a good bike to ride liao. No need to mod engine liao. hehe:smile:

Hello... fellow wave rider...

I have changed to steel braided at RM50, includes installation.

I intend to head in tonight to change my rear shocks and beef-up my front.

My workshop is located in JB, opp. BEST WORLD. I intend to head in after work tonight at Midnight...

Should you want to come along... Call me on my HP - 9456 1515...

Gerald aka Stoner.

Cheers!

*I change to TT900 + Steel braided Brake Hose (Local made) + Posh engine cap with cooler pipe + rear chain guard + Change engine oil (full - syn.) at less than SGD$100!... Cool right!:lovestruck:

Wider tyres = Better grip (GOOD!) but suffer in terms of mileage and pickup (Bad) because of wider tyre contact and increase in weight.

Gear choices - Can try the follow set-up:

Org : Front 14t Rear 34t (If I'm not wrong)

Better pick-up : Front 14t Rear 35t

Better engine response : Front 13t Rear 35t (just change the front)...

Hope this helps...

To Me....
