Hurlo Guys, Im new here. Here to share my experience wif a kaput 400c engine liao. Recently, engine giving problems.

Firstly started wif a high rpm engine (was @ 1500rpm), temp went high on normal idling (high side of (80-90)deg, even aft cont. riding espcially @ traffic junc it went up to 97deg. Exhaust went white smoking, even aft cont. riding & start stop situations. Excess engine oil coming out frm exhaust tip. Engine oil level went less.

The problem here is wer to get spare parts for overhauling.

A check wif GHC, KS motor doesn't bring in these spares as told during phone enquiries. So can anyone help me out here..

with according to ur informations abt ur engine oil is getting lesser, excessive engine oil coming out from muffler tip, it seems that the piston rings are worn out. just change the piston rings and hope that it never scratch the cylinder block.

EL NINO!!!!!

Sorry about that.

Agree with Dzal.

Your symptoms seem consistent with EO leakage into the combustion chamber (Fully burnt EO gives off white smoke, partial combustion of petrol and perhaps EO gives off black-ish smoke while blu-ish smoke is water or coolant leakage into the combustion chamber. Prepare to cry on the last one.).

Might be a simple fix as Dzal says, piston ring replacement. Hope the new ones will fit in without any need to rebore cylinders.

Though be a bit prepared for the costs.

Good Day All.

My beloved GSR got damaged in the arson fire last night. After riding for 2 years with no accidents, and with dedicated care, I had to see it damaged just like that. At least I had renewed my comprehensive insurance last week, so am hoping for good news now.

And since this is the first time I'm claiming from insurance, can anyone advise what I should do after this, or basically any advice at all. Have already done police report, informed insurance company and sent the bike to IDAC as advised by insurance company. What else do I have to do now, just wait?

Hope you guys don't meet with the same misfortune as I did.

Sorry to hear about the damage man, sucks that lowlifes like that are out there.

was just wondering if it's a white gsr in the woodlands area? Saw it on the news last night

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Oh!

Yours is the white or silver one rite? (pardon my color-blindness).

It was in the news last nite.

Saw parts of the damage.

I think you may need to do like an accident except you need not do too much of the drawing crap.

A police report will help.

Other than that, its just waiting.

Ouch.... These claims usually take months... A fren had to buy a small side bike for temporary use as he had to wait almost a year before compensation. That also not the full price of bike as u bought it. Just the market value..... Sad for u bro..

How come only car insurance includes loss of usage during repairs period? it'll be gud if ur repair shop spares u one bro.. By e way, my cribs in Woodlands too. Take care, deess painful times

it was the arson at woodlands. yea, its the white one, with the same sticker as my profile photo here. :sian:

i dread at the prospects of waiting for the compensation.

yo finalsurprise...i hardly been in this web... and sad to such things happening to a fellow bro... do hope its not eyeing others GSRs on the road....

Sure hope not. Could it be some other bike beside his that caught fire first? Hot pipes and oily area. Plus right after riding they cover up the bike with bike covers. Wind blow the cover to hot exhaust headers.... 1 thing lead to another...

3) i dont think got no 3...

Too bad if not it will be usefull as if we calculate back for renewing of local passport will be S$70. By applying this you can save a lot as you will not need to worry your passport pages runs out.

How about TRE mod anyone?

http://www.maxlean.com/motorcyclepages/tre.htm

Need someone that can read and do circuits cleanly and nicely, do our own. From what I can see is to find the connector for the GPS (Gear Position Sensor) and plug the mod there, in turn no cutting of wires. Still have not figure out how to make the gear indicator to work heheh.

Found the data cable for the gear indicator. But dunno how its giving out the signal to show the correct gear. Any person expert in this? It is possible not to cut the wire, As they are using the plastic connectors.

After looking thru how the X-TRE functions.....I think the least damaging way is to get a GI-PRO. No cutting of wires. Hmmmmm..........
