Its simple...if you claim from your insurance, next year when you renew, your premium will go sky high. Anyway, can see the breakdown of what will be done for that amount? I am not saying I do not trust them, juz curious. You may want to get a second opinion from another shop like planet or motoworld.

If not, try to get the bike up and running first. Like if the front fork bent, can see if can press back. Cosmetic items like tail board, can do later. Maybe can hide the scars by sticker or something. That may bring down the repair cost.

I always here this.. Claim insurance, sky high next year.

When i got into an accident in 2007 with a comfort cab, the taxi claimed from my insurance a total of $7000++. same thing, everybody tell me sky high sky high. So i brace myself and prepared the federal reserves.

What i did was jump from AIG to Ntuc. I did highlight to them regarding my accident case. My insurance for 2007 was $850. 2008: $860. Then everyone started saying next year sure got loading blah blah..

2009: $490 with 10% ncd. Then came 2010 insurance 15% ncd..

The only increase was my cousins super 4. Even with ncd, his insurance went up by $80.. A quick call to Ntuc, the reason they gave alot of super 4 reported stolen..

rien d'autre que le max.

If it goes that high, the fan should kick in and lower it down back to 89. It is perfectly alright less the over-heating temperature light is on. At times the weather is hot, so I guess it is common to get those temp.

Anyway, for me, it will be maintaining at 81-83 degrees when moving at cruising speed. And yes I do get 96 degrees at time.

No worries. Temp is normal. Stop n go traffic or jams will reach 96/97 degrees. I heard someone reached 100 before.. Expressway temp should be 87-89 degrees.

Anyway, thanks for the DIY session today, especially to alex n bone for advices on my ride! Learnt a few stuff from u guys. Cheers!

I bought a similar handphone mount like the second pic. It is actually meant for bicycle. Look wise, exactly the same. I bought it at Mustafa center at around $8+ I think. Quality wise is not bad. Been using it for a year already.

For waterproofing it, can simply put your phone in a ziplock bag and then cradle it in the cramp. If feeling unsafe, then use rubber band to secure it with the cramp. Another idea is to tape the back of a small "custom" ziplock bag(cut to size) then tape it on the cramp. To use, simply put the hp inside the ziplock bag and then cramp.

*take note, the spring of the HP cramp will get rusty when soak in rain water. My first hp cramp's spring got rusty till the release button cannot open the cramp. So if the cramp got soak in water, better to spray some lub into tiny holes to lub or oil the spring inside.

One last thing to note about HP cramp. It's the glare from sun light. Been using the GPS on hp during mid-day. The glare is so intense till I cannot see the screen. So for me, I did a few experiment to create "sun-visor" to deflect sun glare. So that is another project that potential HP cramp user can try. 1. Cardboard visor = fail. 2. Plastic visor taped with black tape = success.

Will post my HP cramp's pic when I get back home tonight.
