Ouch!! The only way now is to get the spare key from the bike shop if it's under hire purchase, then duplicate it. I know looi's motor can do the duplication.

Hi Folks, just wanted to check with you guys reg the tyre size for GSR 400. Understand that it uses 180/55 for the rear.

But because its a 400cc ( less torque ) will it compromise the acceleration? Last time when i rode S4 Ver s, rear tire size 140/70. Later when I switch to 150/70 size I could feel that the pick up was slightly compromised.

Similarly, a friend rides VTec 1 using 160/60. He wanted to try a larger tire. Bike shop advised that max for S4 Vtec is 170/60. However pick up will be slightly affected.

So for GSR 400 to use 180/55, I get the feeling that performance is affected. Just that the large fat tyre looks good..... Is there any truth to my concern?

Alternatively, did anyone riding GSR 400 try to use 160/60 size rear tyre? Was the pick up better?

Thanks.

Actually I believed correct size of the tire is dependent on rim size and that acceleration isn't more dependent on rear tire size as compared to rear sprocket size. Probably, there will be a slight disruption to the acceleration due to the larger tire being heavier but only ever so slight.

Just stick to stock size. Using a smaller size will cause it flatten out in order to fit the rim size. Not good.

Apparently there are many discussion about correct tire size but almost none of them is about acceleration, it is about stability.

Here are the links for the these discussion, and they are good read.

Actually, the cost of making a new key will set you back $70 when duplicating using the Original from Loois. Or so they told me. Otherwise, when there isn't a spare key available for duplication, you gotta change the whole ignition-key module, that cost....ouch!

Hi bros, do anyone know our rear seat pillion handle grip cost? Real frustrated to lost it. Tell you all the story later

For OEM Suzuki parts, try KS Motors along Jalan Besar. Just opposite of Regina's Specialties.

Poison of the Day! (Morning actually!)

Care for your pillion! Grabbing the rear pillion bar is a chore for your pillion's arms and if she doesn't wish hug you (aww! Poor you!), you could have a pseudo option for hugging! Here's a front pillion grab bar!

I'm also thinking of getting these Air Checker Valves for use on our bikes. That works out to be about 36Psi, Front wheel and 36/42 Psi, Back wheel (depending on whether you pump 250 Kpa or 290 Kpa).

A useful thing as it tells you whether your tires have enough air or not without having to do guesswork.

Here's the link to the Air Checker Valves on Ebay

Thanks for the info Lex.

Yep I heard about the +2 to rear socket for better pick up. I weigh like 95+ Kg.....so for a 400cc, I need all the torque I can get.. haha...

btw, I saw that for the new euro GSR is no longer 600. It will be a 750cc & the exhaust is now the "normal" style which is by the side.

Wondering will the new model for GSR 400 ( jdm) follow suit in near future.

1997 TZR 125 - 1998 FZ 150 - 1999 GSXR 400K - 1999 RX 100 - 2000 LC 125 - 2001 TZR 125 - 2002 CB 400 Ver S - 2006 CBR 929 - 2006 GETZ 1.4 - 2009 STEED 400 - 2016 ???

Hearing and seeing are 2 different things. You should see it then you will change your mind. Anyway what GSR 400cc year you are riding? I know the 2009 version is have 8 more bhp if I am not wrong. Anyway I do not think you need more torque, we have riders bigger than you....and they seem fine. Unless got hidden agenda...hahahha

Please do note if you change something non stock items, the other parts may suffer due to karma rule. Example, Change to non stock number of teeth, the speedo and chain might be affected. You might need to recalibrate your speedo, if not later TP go next to you and give you an 'invitation' letter.

I think most of us saw the gsr 400cc frankenstein bike at MW that park there for so long. Too much power also not good. The important rule is make sure you know what you are doing before proceeding.

Yup, probably it is better to stick to stock unless you know what you are doing, i.e American Chopper.

Anyway, who's up for DIY? I need to bleed brakes.

YEah ... sure will do. There is a whole world out there for me to get hands on. Btw .. I tried Arai/Shoei and Agv ....

But somehow I find Arai RX7 RR5 to be more sturdy and comfy than Shoei X12 and Agv top model GP tec.

But the prices are quite high .. Arai selling at $980(with CC and 0%). Shoei $750@Regina and agv 800@Regina.

All confused which one and if I really need to invest in this highend models for an normal office-home kind of usage.

Well if you have the spending power why not? Btw where did you go for the arai? To my understanding, a certain shop at the jalan besar area doesnt allow testing on the arai helmets..
