Yo! Realized ppl over looked your post. Don't think negatively ok.

Got 1 rider living in jb. But I forgot His nick.

Is the rider riding a black GSR, with Acerbis handguards and commutes daily trough woodlands checkpoint wearing a Caberg helmet and a Dainese jacket?

I see him every morning, but didnt have the opportunity to interact with him.

Hi all,

Anyone know where to get a new seat and roughly how much would it cost??

My GRS400 seat have 3 caches is broken and only 1 left to keep the seat in place now...

Another question, it is normal for the rpm to drop over time??

I just set the idling RPM to 1.2k just a couple of days ago and it drop to 1k now.

Anyone knows what material is the rims made of??

I bought the bike 2nd hand a few days ago and noticed there's some rust marks on the rims when i wash it yesterday.

Well, I am pretty concerned as I had a friend also riding GSR400 which encountered the rims broke while he was riding..

Lucky he was fine.

Thanks

I see.

Im also riding GSR400, commuting in and out checkpoint in the morning.

Anyway , just checked by gsr.

When my bike is at 100km/h, my rpm is at 6.5rpm

My tank, frm full to the last bar (blink petrol icon) is only ard 200km.

When is the tank is at reserve? Both petrol and last bar blink or omly petrol blink?

As for idling, its best to adjust when the engine is warm up properly. Wait until the temperature to reach about 80 then adjust. If not, you might get the situation you are in now. Adjust, then it drop. If still drop after this, could be idling screw loose???

If blinking petrol icon can get 200km in mileage looks like no good. I am getting around 267km before the 1st petrol icon blink (worst condition). If not throttle happy, will get more. Lets say (assuming) 1st petrol blink you have used up 12.5 litres of petrol.

Yours - 200 / 12.5 = 16km/l >> Like riding a 600cc or 800cc already,

Mine - 267 /12.5 = 21.36km/l

Maybe your petrol burns more during idling at checkpoint?

Actually nowadays no more reserve tank. If it can fit 16 liters, it can only have 16 liters of fuel. To gauge, when 2 icons blink, you will roughly have about 2 liters of petrol left. Be wise during this period.

I dun think it is a common problem. I adjusted mine a year ago and it still stick to 1.1k. It would be good for yourself to adjust it yourself then depending on the mech. These things are actually quite basic maintenance. Just like changing Engine Oil, Brake Fluid, Mirrors, Headlights, Signal lights. I always believe to do it yourself as it gives you satisfaction and able to understand the bike better, unless too troublesome or require certain skill. It is important to wait for the bike to warm up first before adjusting the idling knob.

If not wrong the holes belongs to part of the bike frame. Item number 3

Ahh like this type of situation then ask the mech weather can 'repair' the hole. hahah. If you want to save costs....have to live with it. Maybe got chance to repair the thread. Ask your mech.

Those forumers are idling for 6k @100km/h,you are at 7k for 100km/h, now that explains it. =)

Nope, i just checked, 6.5rpm in 100km/h

Well, if you want, change/service(for aftermarket) air filter, service the injectors, check for leaks, service throttle bodies...and so on and so forth. Best try to service anything tat has to do with the fuel system...

Seems like ur idling is set too low..it does that this GSR(well most bikes do)..since urs is a 400, there will be a plastic cover on the left hand side of the engine. Take it off first, i think held by 3 or 4 allen screws and can be a b*tch to take out. Then look behind the frame(still on the left side), there will b a knob with grooves. Juz turn it to set ur idling...the plastic cover on my bike didn't went back on ever since i needed to set my idling for the third time...but its up to individual...

hey thanks for the tip, it took me forever to find the idling knob and i found it after seeing this. haha.

Do anyone mod the headlights so tht it can be turned off? Or u guys just leave it on all the time?

mine's like on all the time. thought of installing a switch so that i can off the headlights except for the pilot lights.. but then again, leaving it on all the time may be safer actually.

Hey gd morning gsrians! Lovely rainy sunday morning, just wanna ask any one goes in johor often to pump or slack? Might want to have a buddy to go in once in awhile :) , anyways any DIY session soon!

Wouldnt it consume battery? No?

yeah i guess.. definately will.. but the damage shouldnt be too big luh hahaha..

To my understanding, the bikes here have to leave the light on whnever, the ignition is turned on(tat is the law)...when the engine has started, the battery will be rendered "useless". Means the current producd by the ignition coil or generator will power any electronics/electrical on the bike once the bike engine starts. So leaving the light on while riding will not consume anything from the battery.

The reason why sum ppl install the switch is usually they turn off the light before they start the bike, during starting, during warmup.Sort of like concentrating the battery power to the starter motor for easier starting. So once the bike is ready to go, they will juz turn it on and will leave it on thruout the whole journey..

but ther r some ppl who think tat not turning on their headlights is cool(even in night time) for reasons tat i dun understand...
