Guys.. anybody ride phantom before? lols.. wonder is gsr 400 handling nicer than phantom. lols. in terms of handle bar movements. coz when phantom start of quite wobbly for me. lols.

I upgraded my ride from Phantom 200 to GSR400. One thing for sure... I didn't experience any fish tailing while doing a hard braking stop when riding GSR400. Previously when I was riding Phantom... fish tailing is a common thing when braking hard.

In terms of handle bar, yes there are some differences due to the riding position and posture are different for both rides. One example is while in phantom, I will normally turn my handle bar more when making u-turn because it's difficult to lean phantom down in that riding posture(your feet are more forward than body). On GSR, although it is bigger and heavier... but it is more agile in turning(feet are tucked in below you), so I tend to feel more confident to lean more without turning much on the handle bar. Hope that will give you some perspective.

Seriously, no. I bought the bike 2nd hand and the windshield came with it. :D

I think u can get it from Unique Motorsports:

Exhaust pipes! Yours a 400 or 600? If 400 you can only choose between Yoshimura and Leo Vince. Take LeoVince if u prefer a more bassy sound(like me). If 600, got more choices; i think.

I dun install PCIII for my ride. Some of our other bros do. Personally, since i ride a 400cc, i think its unnecessary cos:

1) I feel the stock fuel mapping in the ECU works just fine.

2) I only change the end cans of the exhaust, not the whole exhaust system so i think there is not much of a difference to tune the air/fuel ratio my ride.

3) Just how much power do i want to squeeze out from a 400cc motor?

Of course, these are just my personal opinions, but if u got the money and u want to try it out, no ones stopping ya! :D

Get some engine sliders or crash bars to protect your ride. You dun want to have a dent or scratch on your beloved bike when you accidentally drop it while you are still new to the bike getting used to it.

Perhaps maybe u might want to add a windshield. There are several options to choose from. I'm using:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=186377&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1292070033

May i also recommend Scott-oiler for your ride? Its a chain auto-oiler that keeps your chain always lubricated. Makes cleaning and lubing your chain almost maintenance free and also extends your chain life a looong time.

hmmm.... thats abt all i can think of now. Overall, the bike looks wicked and fine as it is. Not much u can do with it unless you super rich and want to change everything (handlebar, grips, mirrors) to Rizoma accessories and change the rear shock to Ohlins.

Hehehe...

Oh ya, where are my manners!

Welcome to the GSR fraternity! Congrats on your new purchase.

Okie, sleepy now. just got back from work. Good night everyone.

Thanks Eh..

Thanks Eh..

Hehehe, no problem bro!

I recommend all the newbies join up for the dinner meetup tommorrow. Confirmed will be poisoned with the likes of Yoshi, Leo Vince, Rizoma. H&B. You name it, one of them probably has it!

No need to be shy...

Last year when i got my bike, i abit shy2 myself to come down. But after the first meetup with them, i realise the GSR people are the most friendliest people u will meet!

Hahahaha!

So come down, they wont bite....

I'll try to come down tmr, if weather and time permits. :D

Yes, I used to ride a Phantom before as well. The Phantom tends to fishtail quite a bit. Its been a month of riding the GSR it has rarely mis behaved. Be cautious in the beginning when you upgrade from the phantom since GSR is a much more heavier bike and the steering moves to a lesser degree than Phantom. You will need to learn how to bank safely on a GSR, but generally the turning radius and control in a GSR is far more superior.
