This thread is dead.

Anyway, just to share some information

My bike stall the other day, the symptoms is like when there is no petrol left, you throttle but the bike wants to die off.

Then the bike cannot start, and it shows "FI" on error.

That is rectifier problem, changed a new one for $210 @ Planet.

another possibility is simply cleaning air filter and doing your throttle body sync/service. that will fix the Fuel Injectors in the process. (explained by my mech) my problem was solved. :)

Anyone can advise which to choose for sprockets? ISA, Vortex, Driven or AFAM?

What abt air filter? K&N, Simota, DNA or BMC? What's the diff between them? Will fuel consumption be affected?

For engine oil, which viscosity do u all use? 10w40, 15w50 etc?

Finally, any more recommendations as to what tyres have good grip on wet roads and also can last longer? So far only know of Michelin Pilot Road 2 and Pirelli Angel ST...

Anyway i heard a lot of negative feedbacks bout GSR n it was always been less prefered choice compared to super 4.. I juz have to follow my heart choosing GSR instead of super 4 coz most people juz giving negative feedbacks wif juz wat they heard from others n not them experiencing thamselves on the bike.. So i hope i had made the right choice buying GSR..

I think different stroke for different people.. it's really up to you, each sprocket, engine oil (both 10w40 or 15w50 is fine for our weather) u like, since you going to change them time to time..

I used to have K&N filter, but other bikers may prefer other brand.. it's really up to you again..

Most tires are good in wet and last you long enough if you are not racer.. lol..

in short, it really depends which your own preference than people say this good that good.. :D

hmm.. negative feedback? like what?

I think may be GSR tires are bigger than Super4, so cost more.. ur pocket hurt

may be the parts not easily avail like Super4, so cost more.. ur pocket also hurt

may be the bike seat height higher abit, so if your skill no that good, you may drop the bike. :D

i personally didn't really have any bad experience on GSR , even I met an accident with it at Malacca.. knocked on some1's backside.. and the car backside badly damage but the bike is still okay (riding back to Singapore smoothly)

well, may be this bike is much powerful than super4, that you need to be more careful.. greater responsibility.

to be honest, GSR is so popular now compared to few years back.. you ask those pioneer, u will know. Wanna look for a legal exhaust system for GSR400 also cannot find..

That one of the things i heard i heard bout GSR part is not easily available as super 4.. N i also heard its a low range bike n its not as powerful as super 4.. They says GSR have no power.. but i don take their words as they havent ride GSR before only heard bout it.. I want to experience it myself to know..

Why don't buy from individual's ads online?

For me it's because matter of convenience. Individuals I have to arrange meetups, arrange insurance, arrange transfer, quite inconvenient for me.

So if i go down to a bike shop, i see one i like, can on the spot check and if like settle.

Btw, anyone keen for a meetup?

"Wolves and sheep will live together in peace, and leopards will lie down with young goats, calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them. Cows and bears will eat together, and their calves and cubs will lie down in peace." Isaiah 11:6-8

If the price is right, that's the way to go.

Alternative is shop online, meet seller once. If confirmed, go to shop which has been pre-selected as your preferred mechanic. Pay them some small "admin fee" and ask them to arrange transfer for you. :)

Can save a bit of money...

Can I join your meetup if I don't currently ride a GSR? I'm planning on getting one so I would love to meet up and hopefully get some advice :)

Thanks!
