actually, according to this post here, it would be better if u let go of the bars rather than grip it tight

Wow ... letting go of the handle bar? Are you serious? I doubt it will help to control the bike ...

What I mean of "Keeping both hands on the handle bar", does not mean to grip it too tightly... just being able to hold on to the bike and maintain it course till the bike can straighten itself(if you're lucky effort not to fall) ... Of cos... when a tank slap happens... most reaction is to counter it by gripping it tighter and forcing it to straight out... which is wrong... the more you try to correct the tank slap... the worst it will be...

Anyway... I have not experienced it myself... so what your articles say is correct... but I just want to point out that ... if it happens... do not let off your hands from the handle bars... that's just too dangerous liao...

This is what WikiPedia says ------------------------------------------

Tank slap, an example of harmonics, is a dangerous and scary situation condition for motorcycle riders.

A Tank Slap can occur at any speed and is characterized by rapid and wild swings of the handlebars from hard-stop right to hard-stop left and back again. Tank slap happens when harmonic feedback is generated following the front tire hitting an imperfection on the road surface such as the slight bump at the end of your driveway.

With motorcycles being light, it is very easy for the front end of the motorcycle to lose contact with the road surface. When the front end makes contact again with the road surface and is not in line with the back tire, the front end reacts violently transferring the energy into oscillations of the handle bars.

The condition, in the hands of inexperienced riders, leads to a high-side crash.

It is recommended to maintain throttle position and let the oscillations diminish. The reason for this is to allow the motorcyle weight to reach equilibrium. Applying the front brakes or chopping the throttle, puts a forward bias of the front end which combined with oscillations, leads to a break in traction causing an accident.

@moderator

Do go ahead to take my pictures to be attached on the first page of this thread, if u deem it is helpful for others as references when they are buying stuffs. When i buy the brake pad, i quite doubt whether i buy the correct one but the aunty is helpful enough to show the catalog that what I'm buying is the right model for GSR.

No problem if you have a pic.

But $18 is kinda high.

And Gold Fren. Ulp!

Sorry if I'm offending you. Just a personal bad experience...

Filter is $30 at Regina, if he ever takes the time to get more stock in.

Otherwise $39 at Guan Hoe. I get mine from a my regular mech at a price in between.

Pads, I'm sticking to SBS street pads. $12. Simple and clean and stops me in time.

Thinking of upgrading a bit to Vesrah or even Ferrodo higher-end types.

Spark plug, stock NGK is $6. LAB or Regina. But if you're scared of imitations, get from nearby FJT. They bring in only original stuffs. Same price also.

*Prices quoted are not inclusive of labour and installation charges.

Nah not offended at all. My intention is to share where my pick and the price. Also to share the pictures how they look like. If everyone share where they pick and price then some noobs can used that as a reference when they went shopping. Thus they also will know the price range of the item thus if they find the price is within the range, then they can decide to buy all items are one particular shop or hop around. Of course, with the picture(s) it will help to boost their confident that they are buying the right item.

Truthfully, i don't know how much is the original price for the air filter. The last Huogang tried a MO, it is price $32. If i'm not wrong, it being mention that the original price is abt $40 plus. I don't prefer aftermarket because i have to wait another day before i can install it again. Buying two, then i have the trouble of need to sell the extra if i sell my bike.

And forgive me, most ppl mention their trustworthy mech/shop, but where is it?

Come on ppl, share where ur pick and prices.... with pictures is a plus!

i don't understand what you guys are complaining about, or why even.

faster laptimes, quicker acceleration, better fuel consumption, and with the

maneuverability to boot, just confirms whatever you have been saying and

supporting all along: the revo IS better.

Better or not all boils down to individuals ..

But one thing for sure its literally HOTTER!... #$%#@^% Burnt my leg again! I didnt experience this when I am riding a GSR.. ^%$^@%#:giddy:

And cleaning/maintaining the headers is a chore man!... turn reddish always.. mechanic says its because of the euro standards .. then blah blah blah...
