Another first time with my vespa...

My tyre went flat..in PS car park.

I have my spare tyre with me but I really don"t know how to change..

this question really did not cross my mind before.( i Even change a lorry tyre before..but ..i totally lost with my vespa tyre..)

went to the only shop that i know will open at that time..

luckily find a kind soul in JASS shop that ride me back to PS

and show me how to do it..

thanks to the bro once again..

mine went flat too on classic 1/2 a year ago, on expressway with pillion, sharks we skidded due to it. luckily the car behind stopped in time.

Make thing worse, there's no road shoulder @ that particular section~~

But now i realise the hinting the tyre gave me, as was wearing half cap, can actually hear whistling sound from the rear @ 80-100km/h. I tot it was normal, but to sum up its the puncture.

2 cents

yup..

one of the problem with classic

is the tyre ..esp the back one.

i am consider to be lucky that my tyre went flat slowly..

else..hum..think will go out-of-control .

been thinking of changing the back tyre to tubeless one..

but so far only have those made in TW one.

so still waiting..

Mdm Soh has a couple of tubeless rims for sale... (second hand...)

Nothing wrong with them, same one's I got after hearing from who noe.... bought from Jass at Jln Besar...

These are ok as long as you know how to properly install and remove the tyre....

read the thread on Stellaspeed... it offers a clearer picture...

There are different types of "SLIME" those designed for tubeless wheels, and those designed for tubed wheels...

If the right one is used then apparantly it will prevent the sudden "blow out" that tubed tyres are prone to... the tyre will deflate slowly instead = less dangerous...

I haven't tried this, and don't know if it really works or not....

Cheers.

actually i fiound than my vespa front tyre got a very funny problem

sometime after a heavy rain..the front tyre will be semi-flat.

it happened 3 time aready (for the past 6 mtn) I drove to the nearst station to pumb it up and the tyre is perfectly ok.

maybe a coincidences than all three time happened after raining day??

errrr.... that place in Jln Besar plaza... perhaps... but don't get your hopes up, think they also don't have 'em....

Tells you something though doesn't it.... Nobody really messes around with their carb enough!!!! Virtually all piston jams can be avoided with proper carb settings... (getting em aint easy though)

Life is hard eh?

Buy online if you really can't find em here...

scooterpartsdirect.com ship from usa

beedspeed.com ship from the uk.

both have decent rates... see which suits you better

change your tube.... ackl....

you can ponder about why it happens... but the safest thing to do is get a new tube.... (change them every time you change your tyres... not doing so saves you money, but won't save your ass....)

as for the tyre stuff... give it a go... you'll only know if it works when you get a flat... considering having a blowout on tube rims is really dangerous... having one with this stuff in can't be MORE dangerous....

You've got to love the ad though... who posts "favourable writeups" that you can't read.... and headlines like "95 bikers among 173 road deaths" are just silly if they're supposed to support the use of this product....

Did a search and found this site

https://www.lastingplanet.com/displayProduc....hg?productId=1

seems like the stuff is less effective in tubed tyres...

Safer to just get tubeless wheels and be done with it... even at the high price of $90 each and the high hassle of needing specialists to install and remove tyres (wheel is very easily bent and damaged- which makes it worthless after) ask yourself how much safety is worth to you.... do you wear gloves? do you ride with slippers(i'm guilty sometimes)? do you have a full face helmet(ok so I don't)?

Tubeless is worth the money IMHO....
