appart from front brake and tyres....

those things from clauss studios (although not cheap) are well worth the money as they'll make your scooter handle soooooo much better through turns, finally allowing the rear suspension to work properly (when you compare the stock shock mount to the clauss one you'll be amazed)....

I'm not much into cosmetic mods myself.... Stainless steel screws are good though... as are the nice domed nuts for the wheels... Ask your local scooter shop for more info....

BTW, usually pple don't stiffen the spring, when the spring is soft, we usually change it.....cost about $10+ for the spring...chrome ones are at $18 if i rememeber correctly....

May I ask how do you feel if the spring is soft? How often will the spring last before it goes soft?

I've been riding over the scoot for more than a year and still learning about it albiet very slowly :p

i think when u ride over a hump with a pillion and it hit the roof of ya suspension. u can *bounce* ya suspension easily too when ya spring is soft. jelly like feel.

i just changed my spring too. got a cheap one tho. 48 for an Escort brand.

yeah never buy the duro brand tyre no matter how cashless u are. better save up for a better one. skidded last fri when i ride over a drainage cover and superman myself on the road. fortunately bike is still in moving condition. now the bike got this huge battlescare to add to its collection on its side. heh

vespamama, for the previous post on the spring, i was referring to the front spring (those are the ones that cost about S$10 or S$18)....

if you feel your front suspension dives, it can mean 2 things....either your front spring or your shock absorber.....

As for the rear suspension, "soft" spring causes in-stability (e.g. wobbles when cornering or what reddy said, the bump when you cross the hump on a heavy load)....

there are some enhancement for more stability on shock mounts posted by Sharpey, you can check out those posts...there are some pix too...

well gweester talking about shocks, i think mine is in a very bad state. cos whenever i go over any little bumps on the road, it feels almost like i dun haf any suspension at all. almost bicycle-like. Anyone noes whts the prob? or issit normal. but i doubt its normal. haha

-=fire gives life but to also take them away=-

what kinda of front suspension are you using?

3-legged? disk?

if it is the 3-legged fork like mine, like i mentioned, it gotta be either spring or the shock absorber.....

the 3-legged fork is not the best as it dives more than the usual fork...

i have just change to the garbriel shocks....havent test it out but many recommend it for the 3-legged forks...

i guess u must be talking abt ya back suspension.. my new suspension is also rock hard as well. i guess it comes down to the quality of the suspension u got. bitubo the best, should be like water bed feeling. normal ones like escort are cheap but hard. either u invest in a good one or learn to live with it.

reddy, are u using a bitubo rear suspension? cost?

heard that the gabriel rear shocks are good as well...

maz, not too sure about the price of the rear gabriel shocks....

but the front i think is about S$28...if i am not wrong....must check again....

as for the rear, will get back my scoots then test test b4 i decide on the rear shocks...might also consider the gabriel ones....

guess for the spring, all the front spring are almost the same....as long as it is stiff, it should be fine...

yeah...i noe sharpey is using the bitubo.....

sometimes having too hard on the rear just stiffen up the riding....

it also depends on your physic...if you are big, u would need a better shocks to counter ur weight or load....otherwise, as long as your shocks gives you the stability, that's fine....for my scoots i am more concern on the front as it is the 3-legged ones....
